questions:

where do you find out about open calls for art/gallery shows?

and in portland specifically, what's the best way to keep updated on when/where there's the next handmade bazaar? the the website isn't always updated in time for you to sign up, etc. thanks.

i don't know about galleries, but i do know that the handmade bazaar is twice a year. once in the summer and the other in the winter (before christmas). there is also crafty wonderland the second sunday of every month (although, i'm sure you know about that already).

i have heard of crafty wonderland at the doug fir...i'll look into that. i know the handmade bazaar is bi-annual but seem to always not know when to sign up...i guess i'll sign up for the mailing list. thanks for your help!

Just saw this post via a firend's page. For juried shows you should check out the college art associations website (caa). The opportunities section (http://www.collegeart.org/opportunities/) has lots of announcements, and I don't believe it requires membership to view.
