I'm proud of you and this gives me great hope. Going to counseling isn't an end of the road move, it's a "beginning to act like responsible adults" move. And since you've made so many of those moves in the last couple of years, I think you'll recognize the feeling.
This is not defeat. It's victory. It's being stronger than your impulses and your pride and your ego, and saying that Triumph is the real goal.
