Heya, writing this before I have to work - of course the days I finally get inspired to make bases, my computer dies! It's been dead for almost a month and has just been fixed yesterday. I have bad news though - because I needed to get a new harddrive (my other died), all the bases are lost. Well, except for the ones already uploaded ( Read more... )

...how ironic...the same thing happend to me...

i'm not big into icons, but i do a lot of photography, so i lost like 3,000+ photos.

computers are dumb :/

My harddrive crashed last year too, and I lost tons of pictures and music. I'm with the person above, it sucks.

Ouch. I have an HP Pavilion paperweight myself. I'm just lucky I copied most (not all) of my important stuff onto my laptop in time....

Anyway, if you've got the time, I'd like to pick your brain, or at least your memory, since you're so busy on the icon comms. Saved on the dead PC are a set of Harry Potter icons, very simple - it's a picture of black student robes and a House-appropriate scarf, with what I think is Engelixe's steaming-cauldron brush superimposed.

Do you remember ever seeing those, and if so, when or where? Any thoughts or clues appreciated. :)

I think this journal is great, A) because your bases are LOVELY (seriously, where do you find this photograpy?) and B) because you don't have a stick up your bum about credit. Honestly, LJ icon makers these days are frightening. "What?! No credit?! HEADS WILL ROLE!" >.O

I will credit though, I'll just have to try harder to remember to put your LJname as the file name when I save the pic.

P.S. Oh, and this is not a request, but iiifff you happen to see any nice ocean, sailor, nautical type images for good bases... that'd make my day :)

Absolutely, I'll keep it in mind! (The sailor/nautical/etc...) And for photography I use Corbis (www.corbis.com) or GettyImages, whose URL I forget.

Thanks, though! And yeah, I didn't take the photos, so I don't think credit is necessary. If people want to credit, that's wonderful though!

My computer is well, but my Photoshop CD is missing, and this disappoints me.
