"Day 81" - Morning #2, Bert's World

Oct 11, 2011 12:36

Gisela woke slowly, and uncharacteristically early. The room was dark, which was how she liked her room. But as her senses pulled her out of sleep, she remembered she wasn’t in her room. She hadn’t gone home overnight. She was still laying on top of the itchy floral blanket in Bert’s hotel room, and the matching curtains were blocking the morning ( Read more... )

Bert's internal alarm was telling him it was game day and so much needed to be done for mental preparation. Except another ocean of thought too over and his eyes shot open in a near panic, but as fast as he awoke, he calmed down. Gisela was still here, he was still in the hotel, and it was stupidly early. He felt her fingers in between his and smiled, pulling her as close to his body as possible. "Hey, you awake? I'm not dreamin' this, right?" He buried his face in the mess of green hair and took a deep breath. Dreams never smelled so realistic.

She grumbled, at being moved and pulled farther away from the sleep that was already alluding her. She hated mornings so very much. "I'm awake. You're not dreaming." She wanted to stay grumpy a while longer, but then she remembered all his talk of "ifs" the day before. Twisting enough to reach over her shoulder and touch his face, she smiled. "I'm still here."

His relief was obvious and she wasn't pulling away from his hold so all he thought happened really did. He caught a glimpse of the digital clock and it was much earlier than he needed to be up for. "Then, good morning. It's still kinda early, so do you mind if we stay in bed a little longer?" He could probably sleep a little more but he would rather feign sleeping to hold onto her. And maybe 'accidentally' touch bits and pieces.

"No, I'm fine with that." More than fine with that. She wriggled around until she was facing him, and cuddled up against him. She yawned into her hands. "How long until we have to get up?"

He took a bit of a shaky, surprised step back into the water and wiped the water off his face. He had a goofy smile on his face, but reached over for the soap and wash cloth. "Here, let me." He was the one that made the mess after all. He started to work the soap and cloth into a nice lather.

"Let you...?" Oh. She ran her hands over her hair and twisted it back so it wasn't all over her. He'd had his hands all over her, so this wasn't a big deal. She didn't really feel uncomfortable anymore. "Sure. I'll do you next." It was only fair.

He grinned a little and dolloped a few suds onto her nose. "Sounds good."

He started at her shoulders, and he was careful to be gentle with the cloth. He didn't want to be too abrasive and loved her already soft skin. He held her arms carefully as he washed each one. He was careful at her underarms, as he'd met plenty of girls that found that to be ticklish. But he didn't belabor any areas and actually set out to get her cleaned up.

She giggled and flicked the suds off her nose. She let him do whatever he needed, lifted arms and feet and whatever else. It felt nice, his care and attention, and how gentle he was being. She felt ... warm inside.
