Day 94, Late Afternoon

There seemed to be something afoot in the castle. Jennifer had heard some odd noises earlier, and ever since then it seemed that people were running about like crazy everywhere. Undaunted by the size and unfamiliarity of the castle and its halls, she set out to follow the commotion to what she hoped was the source. It wasn't much of a challenge,

Gisela was tired, but though things had slowed down considerably, there were still injured men to take care of. She hoped Bert understood, and was doing okay on his own. She scrubbed a hand across her forehead and directed a nurse to fetch more blankets, and another to cart the dirty linens away. With any luck, she might sleep in her own bed tonight.

She paused and turned to the door, to someone she didn't recognized. With a smile, she approached. "Yes, I'm afraid so. Are you from around here?" It wasn't uncommon for villagers to come by the castle, or visiting family member, the wife of a soldier maybe?

Glad to see that the woman was friendly, Jennifer shook her head. "Oh, no, I'm not!" Although it was rather a shame. This world was so much more exciting. "I just got here from Earth yesterday, actually. I hope nothing too serious happened!"

Although, from the looks of the place, things couldn't be particularly good, either, by her estimation at least.

"From Earth?" Gisela's mouth made an O of surprise. That was new. "Do you know the His Majesty the King?" That might be a silly question, given how large Earth was, but how many people could jump from Earth to the demon world?

She turned to regard the infirmary, where patients were scattered about in various states of recovery. "Someone with evil intentions caused some harm. But she's been dealt with." Gisela had no idea where her body was at the present. "Everyone will recover in time."

"I don't just know him, I raised him!" She giggled, unable to help herself. "I suppose I should have introduced myself before, huh? I'm Shibuya Miko, but please call me Jennifer!" She dipped into a slight bow.

"Oh," Jennifer paused, taking the information in. "I'm glad the evildoer got what was coming to her, then!" She figured said person must be in the dungeon or something by now; it didn't cross her mind that she could be dead already. It all sounded very exciting, actually, but she figured it wasn't a good time to ask a dozen questions all at once, before she even knew the other lady's name.
