Day 98, morning

Jan 03, 2013 11:19

Bert was feeling a lot better about things. He wasn't fighting with Gisela anymore, he could go home if he wanted (though coming back was tricky), and he was having a pretty good morning work out. He was pushing some dummies over when he saw a few strangers to the field coming down. He recognized the kid at least, but they had swords and it was ( Read more... )

Yozak was already in the baths, though not for leisure. He had to get his hair scrubbed up real good, and he had his best soaps out - the kind that smelled of vanilla with a hint of flowers, and a dash of Cheri's stuff added in because it never hurt to help things along. He was also in a bit of hurry, as he found himself tasked with mission meant for a team of at least two (perferrably more) and no team to pull it off.

If that was the only thing that went wrong today, he would count himself lucky.

Bert was hit with a lot of strong fragrance as soon as he stepped inside the bathroom. He carefully peeked around the wall, fully expecting to see a woman (or several from the strength of the perfumes) but the sight he was greeted with was none other than a bright orange head of hair on a wide, muscular frame. He had no doubt whom this was.

He still remembered their last encounter, which made him a little uncomfortable, but he came for the bath. He just hoped that if any of that flowery smell came with him, that Gisela wouldn't accuse him of cheating.

Stripping down and dropping his towel on a bench to the side, he entered the bath. "Hey, what's with all the fancy soaps?"

Yozak peered over his shoulder at Bert, grinning, "And hello to you, too." He shoved a handful of water over his head, rinsing the soap away. "Not that I don't enjoy smelling nice from time to time, but today it's business."

"Business?" He looked around for the normal soap and shampoo. The other stuff smelt nice - on girls. "I'm afraid to ask..."

Bert rinsed himself off quickly and was almost right behind Josak leaving the baths. He had ten minutes to find Gisela, and he could only hope she was in the infirmary. She wasn't too happy when he left without word before, he wasn't about to do it again. Though, he did enjoy making up. That part was always good. He just sincerely hoped Josak was kidding about the not coming home.

He got a lot of looks as he ran through the halls, passing by guards and maids as he burst into the infirmary. Why the hell was this room almost completely across the castle!? "Gisela, you in here?"

Gisela looked up from bandaging a soldier's hand and patiently stared back at Bert. "Yes, I am." He looked winded, and she frowned in concern. "Has something happened?"

She gently tied off the bandage and gave the soldier a smile and excused herself, promising that he would be taken care of in a moment, and rose to approach Bert. "What's going on? You'll frighten the patients bursting in here like that."

"I don't gotta lot of time. I'm supposed to meet Josak in a few minutes. He wanted me to go on some mission with him and I wanted to let you know I ain't runnin' off." He reached up and fiddled with some of the hair that hung around her face. "If I come back, we're gonna have a good dinner. Just me and you. Wherever you wanna go." She would have to know the place, he only ventured out a few times, and never on his own.

"A mission." A mission with Yozak could be dangerous. It probably was. Even something terribly mundane could turn nasty if something went wrong. She couldn't help the knot of worry that tightened inside her. But this could be good for him. "You do what he tells you, okay? He knows what he's doing."

She pushed him out into the hall, away from patients and other healers, before leaning up and kissing him sounding. "Of course you're coming back."

Yozak didn't bother to dress in the baths, just tucked a towel around his waist and hurried down the halls to his rooms. A few winks and grins to anyone who appeared the least bit scandalized, and he was golden. He didn't have time to smooth over any delicate sensibilities today.

He tossed open the door to his room, and heaved a prayer of thanks and a relieved sigh to find Gunter lounging around on his bed. "You're here," he breathed. "I won't have to find you."

Gunter looked up at a mostly naked Josak and smiled, taking his glasses off and setting his book aside. "Well, had I known you wanted to have a bit of fun today, I might have been a bit more prepared for your return." Though, he could tell by the look on his face that he wasn't there for a good time.

Which was a pity, since Gunter enjoyed the good times. "But what is it really you wanted to find me for?"

"'Fraid not." Yozak moved across the room, discarding his towel and bending to pull several packages out from under his bed. "I've got a mission, not to far from here. The men I was supposed to go in with got delayed. I wouldn't mind some help. Bert's on his way, but one more set of eyes wouldn't hurt."

He tore open a package and pulled out a red uniform that was mostly fluff.

Gunter watched Josak with the package and the fluffiness that expanded once it was removed from it's confines. "I don't really have any other plans today, so I wouldn't mind lending a hand. I'm assuming we're to be incognito as staff?" The dress was a bit over the top, but it was perfect for Josak's style. "What is it that we're after?"

(for when we're ready for all three)

Bert felt uneasy after he left Gisela. She seemed to be taking it very seriously, when he thought Josak was playing around. Maybe he should refuse after all? He doesn't have magic or sword skills and in a world like this, all he knew how to do was through a few fists and run. He wasn't stealthy or smart. He was just big and not too bright. He wasn't built for spying. He was the bull in a china shop.

Outside the door he let out a heavy sigh and went inside. He might have been a couple minutes late, but Gisela would never forgive him if he wandered off with just a note again.

"Second in command..." Yozak hummed. "Possibly. The estate is used as something of a waypoint, so we may get lucky."

Yozak emerged from his drawers with a triumphant shout, a handful of bras in hand, all of them various size. And just in time to see the door open. He waved them cheerfully in Bert's direction. "You made it! We're just getting ready."

He sifted through the bras and selected a rather generous set for himself and tossed the rest on the bed with the rest of the clothes. "Help yourself."

Bert made a rather confused and disgusted face with the bras being waved at him. He wasn't sure he wanted to know what he was walking into, but seeing as Gunter had his dress down around his waist and was trying to fit one on, he had a pretty good idea.

He grunted a bit and remembered what Gisela told him. He really didn't want to do this, but Josak said to. "Thanks..." he mumbled as he looked through the pile, trying to find the one with the widest band. Josak was rather broad himself, so he hoped one of these would fit. He pulled off his shirt and found one he thought might be ok. He'd taken enough of them off of women along the way, but he was having the damnedest time trying to put one on.

Gunter got himself situated and was about to look for some stuffing when he noticed Bert's plight and moved to help him. "It's not as easy putting it on as getting one off. Let me help you."

Gunter was met with a grunt, but compliance. He smiled behind Bert, trying not to laugh at him.

Ha! Yozak smirked, glad to see he wouldn't have to fight with Bert over the uniform, and pulled his dress down enough to get his own bra on with practiced ease. He stuffed it full of socks and readjusted the dress, pleased with the results.

"Lucky for you," he said to Bert, tearing open another package, "No heels." He held up a pair of large, dressy shoes with adjustable straps. They were ordered to fit the men who were meant to go along instead, so he hoped Bert and Gunter has similar sized feet. "But we should do something about that face and hair first."
