Okay so my housemates bought this book called 'He's Just Not That Into You: The No-Excuses Truth to Understanding Guys'. It's this great slap-in-the-face book that a lot of girls (myself included) need to read. i saw this book on oprah. a bunch of women from the audience got up and explained their situations 'we've been living together for 9 months now. i want to have children asap but he wants to finish his degree' and then the author would tell the women that their men were just 'not that into them'. i personally think this book is rubbish, and that a lot of these sort of books place too a high priority on creating catchy soundbites and phrases, compromising any real advice they could give.

i didn't see it on oprah but everyone i know who did said it sounded like complete arse. i did take a lot of it with a grain of salt, but i think overall it's done me (and my housemates) the world of good. before we would be obsessing over whether a guy likes us or not, nowdays we just don't give a shit. instead of spending weeks (months?!) wondering and worrying about it, now we just shrug and say "oh well, i guess he's just not that into me!" and it really is no big deal. it's made life so simple.

i guess so. but i cant help thinking that if the 'i guess hes not that into me' mantra resulted in missing out on a potentially great experience, then it wouldnt be worth all the saved heartbreak from not obsessing over guys who actually werent 'that into you'. confusing sentence.
