a quote to consider

Oct 24, 2006 00:33

I have been unhappy for far too long. I believe it's about time I took control of my life.

“It isn't what you have, or who you are, or where you are, or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about.”
-Dale Carnegie

What largely makes it true to me is that we are at our very core individual entities. We may be connected by thoughts, discussions, emotions, and actions, but it is the way we live on the island inside and the view there...that is our own world. Reality is only determined by the clashing and crossing of countless perceptions.

Tangent over.

I could do nothing but agree with that. I wish more people would take responsibility for them selves than blame how terrible the world is, how awful people can be, or how much they hate their life. it's what every person makes of it. honestly? I've made some shitty choices, said some negative things, but... what it comes down to is self-realization. do I plan on doing those things again? not at all. I seek nothing but self-improvement... and I've found the best way to achieve it is by further (and fully!) understanding one's self. sure, everyone can preach this, but it's the people who live up to it and make notable changes I admire.
