I thought this was sad and vibrant and thoroughly realized and lovely. And sad. Did I mention sad?

Also, it was human in the best of ways, with life and death happening to people all at once without neat and clear delineations. I really liked seeing Rodney and John (and Carson's family) so vividly in such a setting.

Thank you! I was really trying to get across that weird sense you get, around a funeral, where life is still happening, but feels even stranger than usual, because you're not totally processing everything. I'm so glad it worked for you - thanks for letting me know!

Anna -is- very like Rodney - with a few key differences, though, not the least of which is the family she grew up in. I'm so glad she and all the rest of them came across so well for you; I'm very fond of them all myself! Thank you -so- much for letting me know you enjoyed it! *passes you a tissue*

I just wanted tp say that your story is lovely. The Beckett's were wonderfully characterized and John and Rodney were very true to themselves.

I have an ENORMOUS crush on Anna, so you're hardly alone, there. :) If you have the time to share, I'd be interested in knowing a little more about what you mean about Mrs. Beckett's reaction, just because it was hard for me to figure out how to handle that in my own head.
