This blog comes in two parts.
Part one: Blanky McBlankBlank
Part two: Chinese New Year.
Okay. So. Blanky McBlankBlank. This is what I do when I see someone whose name I don't know, but want them to have a name. F'rinstance, I work with a Bitchy McBItchface (I do, however know her name...). Hottie is a common first name. F'risntance, Hottie McTrainBoy, or Hottie McGreenTop. In case you couldn't figure it out, the name describes the person in question, as far as I can tell by looking at them. Tonight, there was Hottie McLionHead.
How great is that? How often can you say, "Man, that guy inside the lion head, snapping at me, and throwing lettuce and spring onion all over the shop is fine!"? Of course, seeing how I was eating with my parents and their friends, I didn't actually say that... but I thought it. And named him Hottie McLionHead.
Now, I wouldn't usually blog just because I saw a boy who was nice to look at. I just like the name better than I like the boy. Seeing as I don't know the boy at all, and quite enjoy the name.
Does anyone else do this? Blanky McBlankBlank, that is. Or the same concept with your own formula? Blankity O'Blankerhan, p'rhaps? Or... Blankella BlankenBlank? Lemme know :)
Part two: Chinese New Year. Now, as much as I wish I did, I don't see attractive boys in Chinese lion costumes on an every day basis. I went out to celebrate the second night of Chinese New Year with my parents and their friends. And there were lions and tigers and bears, oh my! Um... well, no... Lions and dragons and really loud drums, though. I had a really delightful time, and think I should celebrate Chinese New Year every year.
The menu is as thus:
Entree:
Money Bag - chicken, water chestnut, babycorn and onion encased in a deep [sic] friend pastry.
Curry Rolls - delicious spring rolls made from beef and potato with a hint of curry powder. Small in size yet big in taste.
Soup:
Cantonese Chicken Soup - chicken broth iwth egg flower, accompanied with shredded chicken and a touch of sesame oil.
Main Courses:
Zu Ji (Drunken Chicken) - sliced chicken fillets cooked with ginger oil, Chinese mushroom, babycorn and carrot, with our Chinese cooking wine to enhance the flavour.
Ga Li Rou (Vindaloo Pork) - tender pork with fresh herbs simmered with tomatoes and yoghurt cooked in a Vindaloo sauce with a side of Shanghai bok choi.
Cao Mei Xia (Fried Strawberry Prawns) - prawns in batter rested on creamy homemade mayonnaise and a fresh strawberry sauce served with Thai salad.
Chao Fan (Special Fried Rice)
Dessert:
Golden Delicacy - pumpkin pudding coated in shredded roasted coconut served with a fresh custard and coconut cream.
(So what if I just copied out the entirity of the menu?)
My favourites were the money bags, the soup, the chicken and the dessert. Om nom nom nom nom.
The only thing I didn't have was the prawns. Because I don't eat prawns. Because I don't eat seafood. And prawns are seafood.
I had a delightful time, and only wish I had a fortune cookie.
