There's this one episode of the Simpsons where Homer is trying to teach Flanders how to "live" and they go on a trip to Las Vegas. Homer mentions something about "having a laugh" in a somewhat rowdy or coarse way and Flanders response is to say "If I ever want a laugh there's Bob Sagat". It always strikes me as clumsy and ignorant of the writer, ( Read more... )

I have to assume that any comedy writer knows that, and assumes that Flanders wouldn't. It's funny for people who don't know Saget's standup, and doubly funny for people who do!
