Characters: Jen, Daniel
She dropped her sobbing head into his chest. His arms immediately went around her to comfort her. Her racking sobs cut through his chest every time.
A tear fell from his eyes. "Jen.." he pleaded, "Jen you need to-" He paused. He didn't know what to ask her.
Her cries intensified.
He couldn't take it. He full on started crying.
"Jen, Jen.." he chanted, rocking back and forth with her cradled in his arms.
She continued sobbing into his jacket, her dirty blonde hair lanky and in his face.
Daniel heard the distant rumble of thunder, "fuck, you can't be serious." He took his jacket off and wrapped it around the bony girl.
Just in time. The rain came pelting down.
It drenched them, mixed with their tears. Lenne's black hair slicked onto his forehead, rainwater running into his mouth as he tried to reason with Jen.
She wouldn't listen.
He needed to get her to the hospital, soon. She was dressed in barely anything, and would probably catch hypothermia if they stayed out much longer.
Daniel tried to pull up the sleeves of his blue sweater, it was soaked through, which made it difficult.
Jen's nails dug into his chest, not letting him go.
"Jen, I'm not going anywhere!" He yelled over the thunder.
She finally looked up at him. Bloodshot eyes rimmed with ruined mascara. Her big blue eyes dug through him, searching for an answer.
"Jen, I love you, Riley can threaten all he wants, but I would honestly die for you."
She dragged in a heavy breath. He just might get that, Riley is planning his murder.
