I bought a littermaid MEGA elite. Also a Kitty Kabana for it. (And some weight control cat food and kitty toys!) Honestly, it was hard work putting that littermaid together - mainly because the instructions were written by idiots. I wasn't exactly sure what went where - the pictures were bad. I hope you have better luck with the automatic litterbox than I did. I went through 2 before I gave up. One of my cats urine turned the litter to a paste and the machine would get stuck and clogged. I love the water fountain though, and so do all of the animals! I'm getting ready to get another one so there is one upstairs and one down.

I hope it doesn't break. I've heard different stories from people (online and ones I know). My mom and dad exchange their littermaid every month. The motor craps out and they wash it in the tub clean and then go back to walmart and exchange it. They've been doing that every month or so for years now. A bunch of people on my soap message board use the second generation littermaids and have no problems whatsoever. My husband's best friend uses one too and he loves it. I put this thing together wrong (placed the top too forward) and that's why the litter wasn't moving into the receptacle. Fixed that. If this breaks I'm going to the Omega round litterbox. It's the litter robot but human powered. (Although the catgenie may be in my future if the littermaid is good to me
