Bizarro world

How bizarre is this? I just got a call from a woman who is returning a pocketbook I lost in 1994! No money in it of course. A little time capsule of my youth...apparently there is my driver's license, an ID for my husband (then my boyfriend) and quote "little crayons." Why she would go to the trouble to find me now or why her husband (who found it ( Read more... )

That's weird.
At least she's an honest person, but still weird. Post your ID pic when you get it back so we can see what you looked like back then.

I still need to see a photo! I want to see that belly!
We are sick...again. We got Avery's little birthday gift and everyday Gid asks me when we are sending it, but in my sickie haze I usually bark back something about him going to the post office. I am mother of the year when i feel crappy.

that is so fucked up! i have someone's banking deposit book from the 60s. maybe i should find them!

sometimes i find a box of stuff in mom's house somewhere that i forgot about -- i found one the other day with a giant glass ball, a glass chalice of some sort, a cassette tape, a blank book, and something embarassing but i forget what. it wouldn't be as fun if i left deliberate time capsules around, i'm sure!

I'll trade you that for a pink fluorescent cocteau twins shirt and whatever else is in the box i brought back from my parents' house but couldn't muster the energy to look through.

you know what's funny is i was just thinking yesterday how i've always wished i had a cocteau twins shirt -- somehow i just never found one! i miss band t-shirts. now i'm spoiled rotten by 'babydoll' Ts that make me look less like a sack of potatoes than the regular kind do.

I think I actually have two of them. One I never wore too much which was white with fluorescent pink photos of the band members. Yes, it's time that t-shirt companies admit that "babydoll" really means "girl"...they are so much more flattering, why didn't they think of that before?

Ya as soon as you said pink floresent Cocteau twins shirt I was taken back to a floresent PIL shirt or maby it was New Order or both that I had and kept for a long time and could never where because they were too long and clung tightly to my hips giving that well really bad fits at the top flabby middle tight at the bottom look. So at one point I started cutting them all up and well rendering them even worse looking but getting some good headbands out of it. Yes the baby doll/womans sized t-shirts were a break through in my oppinion too. When we made Iditarod Ts I went out and bought a bunch of nice Gap shirts from the thrift and printed on them. Thoes were the glory days of the thrift when you could acctualy get good vintage stuff for cheep and you could find good name brand stuff also for cheep. In Providence they started really pricing both outrageously. Here both are non existant. Just a bunch of pilly shrunken very worn clothes that look just as bad as the crap I am trying to replace ( ... )

oh, wouldn't that be wonderful. I'd karmically trade you my wallet to get that one back. I wonder where all the "lost" things go.
