The thing I've regretted most about this semester is working two jobs at the same time with a fairly tough/lengthy courseload (15 credit hours). If I'm taking more than thirteen credits a semester, there's no way I'm going to commit myself to the workload related to teaching ... If I were taking only twelve credits, I wouldn't be bitching about ( Read more... )

You work for Princeton Review? What do you do?

What, what? Your last second to last class is Tuesday? What?

I feel the exact opposite! In high school, I was on the trimester system. Then my senior year I went to a community college part time on the quarter/term system. So semesters feel like FOREVER. They feel way too long. I can't believe how long they are. I feel like dying. Only TWO semesters a year? It's horrible. The term system is a hundred times better, in my eyes. I can't wait to transfer back to it.

I thought about doing that and then I realized that I'm going to be in Amherst.

Yes, you didn't know I worked for TPR? I've been teaching SAT classes for the past ten months. The second to last class session of the course that I have to teach is Tuesday ... and second-to-last classes of the course are always the last real classes (at least for me). Cane's party at Episcopal High School at 5:00-ish on March 8!

I like the semester system a lot more. Classes move by a bit more slowly, and there's not as much stress (dealing with exams and whatnot ...)

I didn't! I go to that website all the time. I wasn't aware that they have real life people teaching! Hah. Now I understand what you mean by "class".

Well, having been on both, I much prefer the term system. I disagree about there being less stress. I feel that I study more and am more stressed on the semester system, especially because it's longer. Also, it's more drawn out to me. I prefer the faster paced term system because I can relax and not have to take 15 - 17 credits a semester. Instead, 12 - 13 will do just fine, because you have three times within the year to complete a course. I think it works out a lot better.

from what i hear, grad school isn't too bad. you should have a strong background from your bachelor courses, so the information and the concepts are not "new-new", only highly complicated and more "real" then just theoritical (and assumed to be true).

I honestly can't wait to dive into upper-advanced courses.

Same here ... I think all of the 2000-level courses (in engineering and basic sciences, mind you) are weed out courses. I think I'm seeing a pattern here with Physics, Organic, Statics, etc ...
