Personal Rant Time: Why I hate the iPod (prepare to flame me)

Sep 28, 2005 15:51

In response to Jacqueline's post (and countless others, most notably Jane, Sally, amongst others) - I'll say this bluntly:

I HATE THE IPOD.It's not anger or jealousy over the company, the player itself, the bundled music software - it's the design (from a technical standpoint) of the player that makes me angry. Don't get me wrong: Apple is a ( Read more... )

I am Jacqueline. I do not like iPod's. They are overrated and they don't have nearly as many benefits as they should. Although they are appealing aesthetically, they don't do anything for a true music buff as they do not allow the uploading of Windows based formats such as WMA. I am pro-Creative as their products seem to have more capabilities (i.e. removable battery, voice recorder, fm tuner) for a better value!

First off, I absolutely ADORE my iPod mini. I've had it since my birthday (February), and I use it at least 2 or 3 times a week. I haven't had ANY problems with my pink mini what-so-ever! I do agree that a removable battery would be an AWESOME option on the iPod, though. I supposed that there really isn't any NEED for a removable battery, though. Seriously... like who is going to want a mini in like 6 months from now? I'm already purchasing the iPod nano for Christmas presents. With all the technological advances going on, we're not going to want to be stuck behind!

*Note, on the other hand, iPods are expensive... so nice, tender-loving parents are simultaneous!

But really, Omkie... iPods rock. They've completely revolutionized the MP3 industry. Apple's got a status, too. I don't know... iPods are cute, fun, slim, stylish, and technological. In my opinion, there's nothing that would hold me back from highly recommending it.

But I do understand what you're saying.

I have a Creative Muvo N200 1GB player. It's awesome! Runs off of a single AAA battery for like 15ish hours (I think). Has built it FM radio, mic for recording, a line in for direct mp3 encoding, direct mp3 encoding from FM, plug-n-play. It rocks.
