Strengths
Cookie Monster has markedly the strongest stomach and mouth one could ever hope to come across. He has no difficult tearing into any material, whether it's crumbly cookies or brick walls and cars, as seen in The Monster's Three Wishes. This ability is mysterious, as he has no identifiable teeth. Teamwork is another strength of Cookie Monster's, shown in The Count Meets Cookie. The most important strength, of course, is his generosity--despite being a glutton for cookies, he can't help but share with those who are in need as displayed in Cookie Monster Shares.
Weaknesses
Cookie Monster's biggest fault is his overwhelming hunger. He has poor self control and tends to act on impulse. He has difficulty following rules and instructions, and despite repeatedly being told by the librarian that libraries do not have cookies, he continues to persevere as seen in No Cookies in the Library. Sometimes the impulse gets the best of him and he takes without asking, leaving others such as Ernie to take the blame in Who Took Bert's Cookies?. His lust for cookies sometimes even clouds his judgment, leading him to pack a basket full of unhealthy cookies instead of chicken soup for his sick grandmother in Sesame Street Newsflash: Little Red Riding Hood. His obsession with cookies can be called nothing short of unhealthy, causing him to even hallucinate and experience vivid nightmares (Cookie Monster Can't Sleep).
