As you said, stress does the same thing. Maybe you should drink more. (j/k)
Exercise, hang out with friends, take up a new hobby, all better alternatives than drinking..

Maybe really is just stress? I dunno what else I can do to relieve it though. I consider just never signing into IM at work, as that's a common distraction, but I'd no doubt continuously still check twitter and LJ and such.
