The ACT and the SAT? Why? The overwhelming majority of schools will want the SAT, not the ACT. Unless you're specifically applying somewhere that wants the ACT and not the SAT, don't waste your time and money taking the ACT.
Also, a perfect score on either test gets you into the papers; it is not required to get you into college, even an extremely competitive one. I was told by an admissions official at a competitive school that 95% of all applicants to any college are fully qualified to get in; from there, it's a crap shoot.
I do karate too; it's brilliant. What style do you do?
Whoa, did not expect this to be replied to! If you'll note, that entry is over five years old. Since then...well, lots of things since then!
I took the ACT and the SAT because why not? Also, I'm from the midwest, and a lot of schools in that area prefer the ACT to the SAT. Besides, I got a 33 of 36 on the ACT and a 1370 of, what, 1600? on the SAT. Comparatively speaking my ACT score was better.
Karate I stopped quite a long while ago. There was a dojo (or whatever. Shop?) down the street from me that did an introductory price of 30 bucks for the first month. After that, though, they bumped the price way, way up, to the point that my parents didn't want to pay. Someday, though, I will return...

And yes, the place where you learn karate is a dojo. :) Maybe find another dojo? Some do charge extortionate amounts; it's irritating.
