Agility, Agility!

I just got my email confirmation that Faith and I did get into our first ever AKC agility trial!  Oh em gee.  I am already feeling nervous.  We're just doing one day of Novice A JWW.  I really hope it's not a disaster.  If it is, I'll blame it on the fact that it's indoors.  The great thing is that the running order is small-to-tall, which means

someone at my agility school went to England last week just to go watch Crufts with a group of friends.

Wow, that's a long way to go. I would like to go to see the agility and the heelwork to music, but my attention span isn't very good when it comes to conformation. Unless it is poodle conformation, of course, in which case I just squee at all the wonderfully poofy and froofy dogs.

Sorry to say, but before Darce graced our lives with his presence, my aunt and I would always root for anything bu any variety of poodle. The problem, we think, is that judges love poodles tooooooo much.

Before I figured out which breed I wanted, I thought poodles were ridiculously ugly. (I also thought their coat felt like terrier wire, haha.) Now that I have my own poodle, I have seen the light! ;)

What made you change your mind and get Faith?

I love poodles with all my heart and soul... but I HATE show clips. Hate them with the passion of a thousand suns, and wish that every poodle out there was shown in a basic sporting clip. This way, it seems far too much that it's rewarding who has the best groomer, not the best dog.

the butt pompoms totally do it for me. i can't help it. if i ever do get a standard poodle, there will be butt pompoms at some point.

I have a groomer friend at Petsmart whose poodle doesn't have enough coat for real hip rosettes, so instead she's got these adorable stars on her butt in place of them. I would love to do something creative with Faith's coat, but at this point I just don't have the grooming skillz. :(

siren always looked like i'd groomed her with a lawnmower :-X

if i ever get a big poodle i'd at least invest in reasonable clippers and such. that would have made a big difference.
