hair dye noob
Dan is taking the anime club that he advises at school to an anime convention at the end of the month. There is room, so I'm going along too. I figured it would be fun to dress up a bit, because really, who doesn't like to get dressed up in costumes?

I am also a hair dye noob. You might consider just hacking a piece off and trying some Manic Panic on it just to see what happens.

You've probably been able to get dye out of your hair because it's never been bleached. (Disregarding for a moment that even the stripping kits are fairly damaging...) Bleaching basically lifts the cuticle of the hair and then goes in to destroy the sctual colour molecules inside. Then you insert a blonde dye to get blonde. This leaves the hair damaged, whatever your hairdresser is trying to tell you. (I mean, their livelihood depends on your willingness to do this to your hair.)
So if you bleach, then dye blue, then try to get rid of the blue with a kit? It's not gonna work as well as it does on unbleached hair. Meaning the dreades Green Hair thing.
If you want the blonde, just do the blue first (I dunno, I've heard good things about Manic Panic and other veggie-based dyes), THEN strip the dye, THEN go to a pro and have your head blonde-ified. :)
