yesterday i went to a performance of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. before everybody gets excited and says "How cultured!" or "How classy!", let me add the fact that it was concert consisting entirely of video game music. yeah, you read that right. but let me also say it is damn good music. the concert was called "Dear Friends: Music from ( Read more... )

"How Classy! How Cultured!" hey Garret videogame music is great music too! if anything i think it's the next stage in the flight of talented composers away from scoring traditional without patron. like movie composers before them i think that video game musicians will one day be exalted to the level of like... i dunno Raffi or something. anyways sounds like it was an awesome show i'll have to check out some of that music.

i was merely generalizing for people that might not appreciate how great video game music is. if you're wondering where to start w/ video game music like final fantasy, i would suggest final fantasy 6, 7, and chrono trigger.

i can't wait till the fall. i'm sure we'll see each other outside of "extreme weather"
