Two weeks ago I saw the amazing Jo Quail at St Leonard's church in Shoreditch. This was the first time I'd seen her perform with a full backing ensemble. Possibly 8 other musicians, including the beardy dutch guy who scratched tins and crumpled foil. The accoustics were great, but on balance I think I actually prefer her solo performances, so the

The beardy guy isn't the dutch guy ;-) The beardy guy is my old flatmate Will Connor and he's actually American :-) He's quite an amazingly creative percussionist - though one has to keep an eye on one's household implements 'round him... that big green barbeque grill lid he used as a bell a few times? that came from the rusting old barbeque in my back garden ;-)

(The dutch guy was the really tall violinist)
