I started my new uni course on Monday! For those who don't know, I was doing a Bachelor of Nursing last year, but it just wasn't for me, so I changed into a Bachelor of Arts. Basically, I went from a guaranteed job on completion of my nursing course to, well... a Bachelor of Arts. Great career move on my part

You're a fellow Melbournite! xD
Funnily enough, i've just kind of done the same RE uni. I was in Biomedical Sciences now trying out Arts:Media. >_< Thanks for reminding me about jobs... :P
BTW That ticket is expensive I had to buy full fare today too. Are you studying full time or part time? Because you can get a student concession transport card for $9 and you get tickets for half price. Plus. 5xdaily are good value. Started the silly Myki yet? They are okay-ish value. I found out today i can't get the student concession! FAIL! But I might be able to get Health Concession...*fingers crossed*

Oh, cool! Have you started your course yet? What uni are you at?
Thanks for reminding me about jobs... :P
Sorry about that! :P My friend said it to me the other day. I was talking about my course and he was like "You know that a Bachelor of Arts gets you nowhere, right?" Yeah, thanks a lot, friend!!! Not the nicest thing to hear just before you start a course!
It's ridiculous, right? I'm pretty much doing full-time- I'm doing 3 units instead of 4. I think I'm eligible for a health concession, but that involves dealing with Centrelink... *shudders* I looked into the whole Myki thing. What puts me off at the moment is that they don't work with buses, so I think you have to buy a separate ticket if you go on one. Hopefully I'll be able to qualify for a concession one way or another, and soon, because at this rate, I'll be broke!

Yes, this week Istarted. Swinburne. You? I could kind of guess either Caulfield Monash or a city uni (yeah I know a lot of uni's are in the city haha).
Well, it is kidn of true. But everyone should do something they enjoy rather than can't handle. :P
Well, depending if you're uni says 3 units is full-time like mine does getting the student travel concession is the easiest option. Centrelink ew. I have to go there soon...

That was my thinking as well! I would rather not spend the rest of my life doing something I hated. I'm not sure that'd be very much fun!
Yeah, I'll definitely look into the travel concession- $21 for 2 days a week is pretty ridiculous!
Centrelink is so terrible. I mean, it's good that they give you money, it's just that they're so incredibly difficult to deal with and always make everything so ridiculously complicated. Sigh.

The cost of public transport is criminal, holy crap. I tried to avoid using it for the two months I was ~between student cards, it's so expensive D:
Because I'm a nerd, I do this ALL THE TIME. I do too, ha. Except usually, no-one ~gets it. (Like on the weekend, we had prawns in a Cajun sauce and I was walking around going, "Cajun styyyyyle :D ... :) ... :| ... :( ... James Carville? 30 Rock? ... anyone?")

It's so ridiculous! I usually get a concession by way of a health care card, but I don't have one at the moment and the cost is just crazy. Thank god I'm only going in twice a week or I would be up for $50 a week!
Whoops, I actually forgot to finish answering that question! Oh well... I'm glad I'm not the only one who does it. It's just so much fun! Thankfully my sister gets a lot of the references I make, which helps a lot! (If I was there for that, I would've laughed my head off. Tru fax.)
