I am in my Psych lab right now, and seriously, I have no idea what's going on. I'm getting worried about this class- it's all statistics and I am seriously, seriously lost. I'm going to have to do a huge amount of work to try and figure it out, especially with an assignment coming up ( Read more... )

I have to say, I was a tad underwhelmed. For some reason, I just couldn't seem to get into it at all.
Same. And I'm somewhat surprised and bemused that I didn't like it too much. Since I *do* like Moffat, Blink and The Girl in the Fireplace are some of my favourites.

I am glad that Ugly Betty ended nicely for you. I think I will try to watch the whole show sometime. I stopped watching around season 2, I think?

Yeah, I just felt really detached watching it. I didn't hate it or anything, I just couldn't get caught up in it like I usually do with Doctor Who. I'll probably keep watching just to see how it goes, but I can't see myself getting that into it, sadly. I'm glad I'm not the only one who wasn't particularly impressed by it- most people on my f-list seemed to love it!

You should definitely watch the rest of it! I thought season 4 turned out to be a really wonderful season. Just out of interest, was there any particular reason why you stopped at season 2?

Yeah, exactly. I think I'll like it...I hope I will! Perhaps it was the fact that my entire f-list was so happy and liking it! I don't know! WTF brain? :/

Hm it was getting a little repeative/same old/slightly annoying some of the characters to me, but mostly because channel seven didn't bring it back on time I think? And perhaps they skipped some episodes, or it went straight to their new digital channel and I never felt the urge to catch up and watch it...though sometimes when I saw its name on the TV guide I kind of wished I had caught up, but I have too many other shows I guess.

- One thing that's really been bothering me this series is the almost total lack of Gene and Alex scenes, both in a romantic and unromantic sense. In previous series, there's always been a huge amount of Gene-Alex interaction. I'd consider it one of the most important elements of the show. This series, however, there's been hardly any interaction between them, aside from when discussing cases. As yorunohime says, it feels a little off when they're not having scenes togther. I have enough faith in the writers to believe it'll improve in the coming episodes, but I just find it a little strange.

THIS. SO MUCH THIS.

And, yeah, the latest Doctor Who was a little... IDK, it just felt like an excuse to introduce the ~shiny new daleks~, lol. However, I do love 11, and I really thought I wouldn't -- give it time bb ♥

So far I've only seen the first episode, so I suppose it'd be unfair to write it off already. It's finally on TV here, so I'll definitely keep watching it.

Another dalek episode? I seriously wish they could go through one whole season without including them.

That's awesome that you love 11- it gives me hope that I'll eventually end up liking him as well! In the first episode I found him a little too similar to 10, which is completely understandable, I suppose. I'll be interested to see what unique Matt Smith brings to the character in the next few episodes!

"I don't want to figure it out- I'd rather it be a surprise. I'm pretty sure that whatever it is, it's going to completely blow my mind."
THIS. I 100% agree. I love reading the theories, but i don't ever want to think 'ah, okay, this is what i think will happen', because i want to be surprised! Like at the end of LOM.

I rewatched the first series yesterday, which i haven't seen in a while, and i was SHOCKED at how much Galex there was. There is NOTHING this series. What happened?!. This is why i'm convinced that the instrumental on the soundtrack called "the kiss" is probably going to be used for Chris and Shaz, rather than Alex and Gene. Obviously i'd be thrilled (MORE than thrilled) if they did kiss, but i'm just trying not to get my hopes up ( ... )

Yeah, I think I'm gonna have to stay away from the A2A community when it gets closer to the finale, because with all the new clues that are turning up, someone's bound to figure it out! You're right about LOM- I was super-surprised by pretty much everything that happened, and it was just fantastic. I think that having no idea what's going on is the best way to do it.

That's the problem, isn't it? We've been spoiled in previous episodes by the huge amount of Gene/Alex scenes, so now that there's less it feels really weird. I'm suspicious about that track as well- I can't see them giving away such an important plot point so easily. ITA about being proven wrong- if it is for Gene and Alex, I will die from the excitement!

There definitely have been moments to suggest that the whole Galex issue is definitely still a major factor, thankfully. The moments are just a million times more subtle than they were in series 1. That's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just difficult to get used to, I suppose.

I always waffle when I write comments ( ... )

Same here! Somebody worked out the 6-6-20 and spoilt it for me, but it is easy to spot - but i don't want anything else spoiled! I'm going to stick with my own personal theories, which are probably total crap, but a girl loves to dream!

I was thinking that. Why would they give that away? They are always really careful with the soundtracks. e.g. the clips from episodes are always from the first two, about nothing that would spoil anything. ARGH. The writers are toying with our minds again.

:D

I think the lack of lots of Gene and Alex scenes has to to with Alex shifting focus to the person of the week, helping Shaz, helping Ray...and, of course, there hasn't been a lack of per se (Alex and Gene in dating agency and the scene reading the forms, Uptown Girl and the flashes thereafter, all the comments and asides from other people...) I'm assuming that the next ep is Chris-centric? Then there are 4 episodes left, so it was like the structure involved the first half of the series centering around Keats temping our side characters, and Alex spending time with their stories? It's weird, I didn't really realize there was this whole "where did the Gene/Alex go?" thing going on, as some of the stuff, esp. from Alex's POV (her hero dream, uptown girl, etc), seems like a direct address.

You're absolutely right about the shifting focus- the secondary characters are so much more involved in the episodes than before, which is turning out brilliantly. I suppose one of my main issues was the lack of Gene/Alex interaction. There's certainly been some lovely moments, especially in episode 2, but there just seems to be less face-to-face interaction between them than in the past two series. I loved that moment where they're filling out the dating agency forms- that's the type of scene I wish there was a little more of.

It's a completely petty thing to complain about, I know. I just seem to get very greedy when it comes to Gene/Alex! I've absolutely adored this series so far, and can't wait to see how everything pans out.

Yeah, I agree -- I think they're saving up the Big Stuff for the later half of the series. It is slightly odd that they haven't had as much regular interaction as usual. I think it's to do with Gene knowing what's the what, Alex's investigation of Sam --- Gene's been very much aloof for a reason, and soon it's going to be like...alskjfa;sfja;lskfdj;aslkfjaslkfdjadk. Just like that, I think. LOL.

Series 3 has been brilliant, oh! So far, it hasn't let me down in any extraordinary way.
