OMG OMG OMG. THIS EPISODE KILLED ME. I SAY THAT EVERY WEEK, BUT SERIOUSLY...
I only just got to watch this yesterday, but damn that was awesome! Whenever I think this show can't possibly get better, it goes and proves me wrong. Not that I'm complaining, or anything. I really don't have anything to offer theory-wise. I'm trying to keep my theorising down to a minimal level because I really want the answers in the finale to surprise me.
- GENE/ALEX FOR THE MOTHERBLEEPING WIN. I SWEAR... THEY WERE AMAZING ALL THROUGH THIS EP. That bit at the start where Alex asked him out was adorable! I loved Gene's 'on a promise' comment, and lol'd so hard when he asked Alex about her bra. Them getting ready with 'Couldn't Love You More' playing made me tear up, NGL.
I don't know what to think about what Gene said about what happened to Sam, and to tell you the truth, at the time I didn't particularly care. Bad, I know, but come on guys... It's Gene/Alex! We've been waiting for this for 3 freaking years! Alex's Get your coat. You've pulled." was possibly one of my favourite ever lines. She is the classiest. Gene was so surprised- it was so bloody cute! Gene saying he only cared what Alex thought also made me feel all warm and fuzzy. I love how obvious it is now that they are totes in love.
THAT DANCING SCENE HOMG. THAT IS SERIOUSLY MY FAVOURITE SCENE OF ANYTHING EVER. I SWEAR, I ALMOST FORGOT TO BREATHE WHEN THEY STARTED DANCING- TO 'TRUE', NO LESS. THEY WERE SO DAMN CLOSE. HE KISSED HER FOREHEAD IN THE MOST LOVELY WAY EVER. THEY WERE THISCLOSE TO KISSAGE. I HAVE REWATCHED IT TOO MANY TIMES ALREADY, AND I STILL ADORE IT BEYOND BELIEF.
I can't believe Gene got cockblocked not once but FREAKING TWICE. You are awesome, Ray, but jeez... As for Keats, I really wanted to wipe that stupid smug smile off his stupid smug face. I love what he's brought to the show and Danny Mays is brilliant, but god I despise his character. It's almost like he waited for the exact right moment to ruin everything. One good thing did come out of that, however- ALEX TOLD GENE TO WAIT FOR HER IN THE BEDROOM WHILE SHE GOT RID OF THE PERSON AT THE DOOR SO THEY COULD HAVE SEXY!TIEMS. WAS THIS ENTIRE BLOODY EPISODE WRITTEN BY MY BRAIN?
- As for non Gene/Alex-related things, I love, love loved the interplay between Ray, CHris and Shaz. I feel kinda bad, though, because my brain won't stop shipping Ray/Shaz. He was so sweet when he held her to him when they were scared! I do like that they're all banding together. It was quite frightening to see them all so scared and on edge. I love them all so much.
The whole wall of stars thing is still utterly perplexing to me, as was Chris' fear of the police whistle. I think that throwaway line from Luigi about being able to go home will probably be something Very Significant, but I've got no idea why.
- I loved the character development for Chris in this episode. I was worried he was going to end up betraying everyone again, so to see him stand up and finally earn Gene's respect was brilliant. That hug between them made me get all teary. It was the desperation in which they were hanging on to each other. Gene looked so damn vulnerable.
ONE EPISODE TO GO, GUYS. I AM FREAKING OUT HERE. I'm super-nervous, but at the same time, I'm almost sure the finale will be incredible. I know how much Matthew Graham loves these characters, and that he'd never sell us out with a crappy ending. I have never had this much faith in the writers before, but they've never given us a reason to doubt them. I JUST DON'T WANT IT TO END, EVER.
