if you don't believe me, what's the point?

Okay, so after working so damn hard for so long to not get spoiled for the Ashes finale, the inevitable happened. I was sifting through my Google alerts and of course, I happened to stumble upon the Daily Mail spoilers. The picture came up in the email before I had the chance to exit the window. I didn't read the article, but the pictures were ( Read more... )

I feel your sadness, Jack/Liz-wise. And I feel even sadder that a lot of people (ok a few on my f-list) are distancing themselves from the show because of Tina and Robert Carlock's comments. But there is a sad little optimist in me that still wants to cling on to the hope that they will get together at the end. Somehow I get the feeling that Tina's main problem with the ship is that she is nervous writing and acting in love scenes especially with a long term cast member ie Alec, especially when her husband is on set with her 24/7. Also I feel like TPTB doesn't dare to hook them up with a couple of seasons to go because they all know (and stupidpeople keep telling them) that there is no going back from hooking their two leads up and it is a huge risk to take. Which is why I am not giving up on them because I remain stubborn in thinking that TPTB have not made up their minds yet, simply because there are still at least 2 seasons more and imo, they know they are having a difficult time finding actors/actresses who are right for both of ( ... )

You know, I too still have a tiny, tiny bit of hope that they're just playing us all and that Jack/Liz has been their endgame all along, but that hope keeps getting crushed by all these damn interviews! I think you're right about the whole love scene thing- she's said many times in the past that she's super-uncomfortable with romantic stuff on camera, and you can understand why, I suppose, but still...

I just really don't agree with Tina's comment about how getting them together would be lazy. I don't know about you, but I'd be way more annoyed if they ended the show with Liz just marrying some random guy. I think that would be the lazy way out. I really hope you're right, because I can't see anyone being as perfect for Liz as Jack.

Yeah, that's what I'm pleased about as well! Hopefully they both just dump him for being an ass. I miss awesome!Jack so much! I don't think I've liked any of Jack's romantic plotlines, aside from maybe the C.C one. Hopefully next year's inevitable love interest is better.

She's being lazy by thinking that 'doing it' (juvenile!) is the only way for them to get together.

We don't have to be shown sexytiems (though I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO) or even kissing to be shown that a stronger relationship exists...

ITA. I absolutely adore Tina, but that comment really annoyed me. As lovely as some making out would be, I'd also be fine with an ending where they finally realise how perfect they are for each other and how much they mean to each other. The main thing that's drawn us all into shipping them is their emotional connection, anyway.

I for serious wish that Jack/Liz would never, ever come up again. They're not going to get together, I get it already, leave me the hell alone about it.

I want to punch Jack in the face so much. So, so much. I have no idea what they were thinking with this plotline.

I feel the same. Everyone keeps bringing it up in interviews, and I just wish they'd stop, because like you said, we know it's never going to happen, so stop rubbing it in. Sigh... I yearn for the good old days when mentions of Jack/Liz used to make us all so excited rather than miserable.

Right??? He is being such a bastard. I'm just so glad that the storyline is finally ending so we can hopefully go back to loving Jack instead of wanting to stab him in the eye.

Hmm, yeah, this is kind of how I feel too (which in itself is depressing enough. I used to love it when the media talked about Jack/Liz.) Why do they have to keep repeating it? Just let me enjoy my world on fanfic and seeing stuff onscreen that, apparently, isn't actually there. Grr.

I'm thinking positive thoughts re. Ros but realistically, I think she might be dead. :( Which is utter crap as by the end of S8 she was about the best thing on Spooks. Me, biased? Never. lol

I'm looking forward to 'Bouquet of Barbed Wire' also with HN; if you haven't seen the trailer then you should as it looks brilliant. :D

Unfortunately, it's really not looking good for Ros. I too found her the best thing about S8- I'll still watch the new series of Spooks, but I don't think I'll enjoy it as much without Ros. I'm totally not biased either... *whistles innocently*

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about that! I didn't realise there was a trailer out- do you remember where you watched it? Was it just on Youtube?

Ah, but you redeemed yourself the second time around!!! :D

Hermione Norris is so damn awesome. I was so devastated as well when she left Wire in the Blood. I watched series 4-6, but I just kept thinking to myself while watching it 'I wish Carol was here...' She was one of my favourite characters ever.

Yessss. And the way she left as well. IDK whether it was her fault or the producers or the writers or just FATE but the way she left :(((.

Arrgh, 30 Rock. I agree with you; I don't feel quite as involved in the show as I used to. And the loss of focus on Jack and Liz, period--even just as friends--has hurt the show this year. It's so ironic that I got into this show because it seemed totally drama- and angst-free, and now I've been angsting about Jack/Liz way more than any other TV couple in recent memory.

Yeah, I've noticed the lack of Jack-Liz interaction as well. It's almost as if they've been scared off doing even friendship moments due to all the talk about the romantic aspect of them. I rewatched parts of series one the other day and was surprised at just how much interaction they had. Ah, those were the days...

THIS. One of the things that drew me to this show was that it just made me happy. When other shows were annoying me or upsetting me, I knew watching 30 Rock would always cheer me up. Now the angst is almost overwhelming!

That's what I think too. It's like a little kid acting really mean to a girl so no one will accuse him of "liking" her.
