Our ears don't grow back. In our world, they're a symbol of our virginity, and once we lose them, we can't very well grow them again, can we? I suppose that'd defeat the entire purpose of them.
We've met before, haven't we. You also know about this matter, then?
Then you could tell me something of the biological aspect. I want to know the connection between these seemingly unrelated aspects of the physical anatomy. Presumably a hormonal change is involved.
yeah that's right.cryptonymsOctober 4 2008, 23:48:30 UTC
Once before, yes.
-- It's much like losing one's baby teeth. Once one reaches a certain age, or in this case, performs a particular act, their body reacts to it, and as a result, their ears are lost. I hardly doubt it has anything to do with anything as complicated as a hormonal change. It's just what our bodies have been trained to do.
I don't have a logical or simple explanation for you, either way.
Elaborate.

A disappointment in the intellectual department. Your biology, regardless, is sure to be a matter of interest.

I see.
And what happens to the appendages? Are they shed, or reabsorbed into the body? And I'm to assume they don't grow back?
