“Eight out of ten female trainees don’t get their periods.”

This is a statement from a person working in the rookie development team of an entertainment company. Waking up at 5 AM and returning home at 2 AM, living on just water for a week to lose weight-such is the life of trainees in the entertainment industry.

This has to stop, one of these days they're going to kill one of these kids and there is no telling how many of them will grow up never even getting a debut and just passing away in their sleep from heart failure with no one being held responsible. Causing prolonged starvation is literally considered to be a crime against humanity, and that doesn't even touch on the fact that these girls will struggle with BDD for the rest of their lives and could end up with permanently messed up reproductive systems.

And if it's already 8/10 for trainees then is it just 99% amongst active idols??

I'm pretty sure most female idols either don't get their periods at all or are on the pill. Far more convenient (for their managers).

Edit: I think Ashley from ladies code once said that she didn't get her period for 2 whole years.

Yeah I thought a lot of them would not get theirs anymore but with these stats it really must be almost all of them which is insane. I get the idea that the pill is very unpopular in SK but I don't doubt that their managers actually prefer them not getting their periods at all which is just...so gross.

i think perhaps not all, but yeah maybe almost all? i remember there's a former idol (also ashley's friend) who said she or her members did get periods and they had to just bear with it if they had period pains. but yeah, some don't get their periods. and i agree that perhaps them not having it at all is preferable by either their company or themselves if that what they had to endure.

not even surprised (altho the not drinking part is wild!!!!!). like you can't have their bodies with only exercising, exercising doesn't even help weight lost. there must be a lot of not eating involved there. and it's annoying when they say they're big eaters.

also, about the hours, this is what came into my mind when NJ (or their parents) leaked about hybe treatment of the girls when they were trainees. i'm sure the agency thinks it's absolutely normal bc everyone is doing it. but ofc it's difficult to accept for parents.
