Samhain update: well it didn't smell like autumn all day - it mellowed after awhile - Fred could still smell apples cloves and he detected a cedar note as well, but it ended up smelling a little powdery on me by the end of the day. I will stick with the final analysis that as a result of my body chemistry - it's better as a potpourri or room scent ( Read more... )

Samhain is my favorite scent, but I believe the' 05 LE to be a better version than the '06. YMMV. :)

Soapy scents can be difficult to get a handle on. I used to hate them, then my tastes changed a bit and I like some of them in small quantities. I totally know what you mean about egyptian musk being a little soapy - but it's soapy in a good clean wonderful way.

I really want to start training my nose to understand what it's perceiving and then be able to put words to it. It took me awhile with wine, but I can do it now. My nose tends to be fairly sensitive but more in the I can tell what oil you were wearing 2 days ago sort of way, not the picking out individual scents sort of way. I think I'll be much more able to predict what I will like once I am able to do that.

(The Numb did become less aggressive over time, but it didn't change too significantly.)
