September and the Leopard of Little Breezes

Hi Everyone!

I've been a watcher of this community for a while (since the beginning, I think) but I joined today so I could post my entry for the museum. I'd only read The Orphan's Tales before (just the first book) but loved it so much that as soon as Neil Gaiman tweeted about Fairyland then I was desperate to read it.

I'm really glad we got some extra time because I had to rush the base of this piece before I left on holiday and then I had to hand sew the rest.

This is a layered textiles pieces, made with lots of little pieces of fabric and thread, showing September and the leopard. She has her hair in front of her face- I kind of wish I'd decided to sew her face in instead.

Please forgive me for not putting in the emerald saddle! Hope you like it.

I haven't had a chance to read the most recent chapters so I'm looking forward to that when I get home again!

This is a work in progress image so you can see the layered textiles piece I started with when I left to go on holiday:

And this is the doodle I started with. I was going to add in some other bits but I decided to just settle on September and the leopard.
