No one went missing or anything during that last shift, right?
[That is actually meant as a sort of all-call for his family as a whole (cousins, nephews, nieces ... as much as he tried to, he didn't manage to pick up on everyone over the past few days since that shift) as well as friends, but being that he didn't bother filtering it,

he pokes his head out the door! ] Papa~! Can I have the last bagel?

... Man, he was saving that for himself :( Ugh, but Stella would probably lineface at him and he really shouldn't do that to his son, no matter how hard he's trying to be cold and tough and such ... guhhhhh.]
... Yeah, whatever.
[Sharpening, sharpening B|]

[ GRABBING THE BAGEL. Toasting it! Now he's going to go outside to watch daddy work. ]

But geez, what is with his sons watching him sharpening pointy objects today? Maaaaan. Well, whatever. Even if Yuri has a tendency to ignore/respond coldly or shortly to Shuri, as long as Shuri doesn't just stare quietly, he won't get huffed at.
... Much. Maybe. IF YOU PLAY YOUR CARDS RIGHT, SHURI, THIS MAY BE A GOOD DAY FOR YOU ... maybe.]

... huh... there's something really beautiful about them. he sort of wants to touch, but, papa would probably yell at him. ]

But! After a few minutes--]
It's a little hard to focus when I've got someone standing around all silent like that, you know.
[Geez, Shuri, you and your brother, really.]

Can I hold one? [ finishing off that bagel because you shouldn't play with a sword with food in your mouth. ]

Whatever the case! That question gets a moment or two of silence before he responds.]
... Fine. Just watch where you touch it. [He did just finish sharpening a few of those, after all.]

But ... hrm. He's swinging it?

Maybe--

At this point, Yuri's slowed down to the point of stopping entirely when it comes to sharpening right now. Instead, he's watching Shuri very closely. Form, stance, handling -- and ... oh geez, he actually seems to look kind of natural with it.
... But so did Hei, and he rejected it. Maybe he shouldn't get his hopes up ...]

E-eh? [ stopping. maybe he should put it down... ]

Now he's kind of lost, hovering somewhere between telling him to continue and making some snide comment about his form. Good job, Shuri, you sort of broke your papa.]
... If you just stop like that, you'll mess up your form.
[That probably sounded somewhere between cold and unsure.]

So, like this? [ he makes an adjustment. there's that... desperation for praise showing itself again. ]

DAMMIT THIS IS HARD.]
You're making it worse.
[Well, not really, but it's still not right. But ... ugh. Guh. MRRR. Dammit. Shuri, why did you have to be the one to take to it and actually follow through?!
ANOTHER PAUSE ... then he gets up, taking the sword he was working on with him, and walks over to Shuri.]
Straighten up more.
