Is it worth making friends here when it's only a matter of time until they're taken away...? I didn't really want to think like this, but after being here for so long and seeing so many good people get sent back...

Situations have arisen recently, for me, which... have brought the very same thought to my mind.

Lack of permanence, in any sense, is also a lack of stability. And a risk of being hurt.

Someone told me they would be willing to wait until I feel able to allow another in my heart... which made me wonder just how much time any of us have in which to wait, before we are returned. Whether any risks are worth taking, at all.

Lives change, different paths are taken and people die.

There is never any guarantee of any sort of permanence in life. Blaming a universal fact on this place seems futile in many respects.
