[The PCD feed clicks on abruptly. A child is crouched down low, holding it in both hands and causing the viewing area to catch largely the face and one shoulder, canted a bit to one side. It's a bit difficult to tell if the child is a boy or a girl. Arya's face is plain, her eyes brown, and her dark hair is shaved nearly to her scalp. Her clothes

Hello?
[There is no answer. She calls out again, then scowls when only a sparrow flits overhead. Finally pulling the PCD out of her pocket to take a closer look at it, she hits a button that causes the video response to replay. It also starts recording automatically again after the playthrough. She watches, fascinated.]
What is this? [A monk, too?] Are you a monk? I live at the temple sometimes.

[That didn't make much sense, but Arya didn't say so. She only frowned a little.]
I haven't heard of the Southern Air Temple before. Is it nearby? [She paused, not knowing how much else she should say. Or, really, who she should be. She didn't bite her lower lip in worry, though, which gave her some level of satisfaction. Only stupid Arya Horseface would do that. Finally, she decide that it would be alright to offer up even a little bit.] I'm not really sure where I am. This doesn't look like any part of the city I've been in.

[Arya shakes her head. PCD must be another name for the communicator. Already she is starting to find out just how useful it can be.]

[He laughs.]
I don't think you'd want to smell some of us.

[But that was also one way of distinguishing them, or so she'd learned.]
How can I make it do that?

[This is a new thing that I know today that I didn't know yesterday. And knowing that makes her feel good. She's still doing what she had been taught by the old man and the little waif. She's still learning something new each day.]
Does that mean that you have one, too?

[Arya says the words simply and openly. It was a question that she had been asked so many times, and she had learned to always answer it the same way. She buries the wolf to save her lies, and to make them true.]
I was told that I would go to Izembaro for my apprenticeship. Am I to have it here, instead?
