I've seen it going around and thought it might stir up a little conversation here as well.

Ask me anything.

You may ask anonymously if you need to, it's all good.

Why are you so ridiculously awesome? No, really. I want to know how I can grow up to be as awesome as you (I am kind of in hyper-fangirl mode because I've been mainlining Fatcast for the past two days, and both of you are SO AWESOME).

I've been thinking about this since you asked it yesterday and here is the best I can conclude:

I want things to be better than they are, for everyone. I've had enough negativity and awful in my life; I choose to actively build things and relationships in my life that are good regardless of what other people think. And I want that for everyone - I am willing to give up some of my comfort zone if it means other people will benefit in the larger sense. That's how we change the world. I am optimistic and I try to remember that people are just as likely to do the right thing if they are given an opportunity. I want to make it easier for people to do the right thing.

I don't know, I mean, the world is this huge and awesome place and there is so much about it that is good and interesting and downright amazing. Holding on to that helps.

Maybe that's not what you're talking about - but I have a hard time thinking of myself as anything other than totally normal (because, you know, I am my only frame of reference for being me).

In all truthfulness, you are the kind of person I aspire to be. I know I am still not at your level, and I still have a lot of problems, but if I grow up to be somewhat like you (not exactly like, as that would be creepy) I will count myself a success. <3

Marianne if you and I had three days to frolic anywhere in the whole universe where would we frolic?

Vegas, bb. Because I can't think of anyone else with whom I'd rather spend three days in showgirl costumes. And this would be the perfect opportunity for that.

More internationally, I think we'd cause quite the ruckus in Berlin.

What are pitfalls a podcaster should avoid?

Ooh, I want the answer to this one, too.

The Fatcast breaks a lot of typical rules. It's just the two of us, it's just conversation, and it's usually an hour long. So I actually wouldn't get too caught up in what the general wisdom thinks a podcast ought to be. Instead, know who your audience is, really clearly. Keep the pace moving - dead air happens but too much for too long just turns into awkward silence. You don't need to have all the answers on a subject, but I think you need to always be honest with your listeners about that. If it's a topic you're still feeling out, tell them that ( ... )

Have you been wearing nail polish lately? What colour is your current favourite?

I've been really bad about upkeep on my nails so right now I am wearing the tattered remains of NYX West Village, which goes on blue the first coat and then turns irridescent daaaaaaaaaaark purple. I've been really drawn to a lot of my almost-black colors of late, though I had a super brief flirtation with a very pale silver, the name of which I can't remember but it was one of those Sally Hanson Complete Manicure polishes. Which are pretty rad.

The new holiday and fall stuff from China Glaze has caught my eye, though, and I think I'm going to be caring about this again - especially since I've been wearing makeup so much more often.

How did you get your agent?

Have you ever sought out your biological parents?

If you were to come to Australia, what sort of things would you want to do/see?
