Remy stared at Patrick with a mixture of sceptism and disbelief, steaming cappuccino in one hand, copy of his favourite magazine in the other. He'd decided to go wandering around the city by himself; Danny was spending the day hanging out with his group of old friends, and though he liked them, he wanted to give the Ravenclaw a chance to chill with them on his own terms for a day.
This was one of his favourite cafes, he had been introduced to it by an old girlfriend a couple of years ago, and he'd come in to get a coffee and have a break for a minute. Turning around from the coffee bar, his eyes had swept the tables for a spare seat; and seen Patrick.
He stood in front of the younger boy now, trying and failing to work out the odds of the two of them, schoolmates, meeting in a tiny cafe at the same time in London. Astronomical, he suspected.
Patrick's gaze immediately snapped over the second he saw Remy. Imagine that. Two people in a big city that knew each other meeting up at the same time, in the same place. Fancy that.
"Sitting, I think?" he replied quietly, then moved his newspaper and drink over enough to give Remy room, just in case he cared to sit with him. "And you? Fancy seeing you in a place like this, really." Motioning to the seat across from him, he added "Seat's not taken."
Remy shrugged, figuring it couldn't hurt, and moved to sit in the offered seat, placing his coffee and magazine on top of the elaborate table. "Thanks."
He had taken the habit of lounging from Danny; he stretched out in the seat, taking over every inch of offered space. Yawning languidly, he glanced at Patrick and lifted an eyebrow. "Got anything good, then? See you've done some spending."
Patrick cracked a smile as he leaned back in his seat, then pulled his own cup up to his lips. "Wastings more like it," he replied, amused, then paused to take a sip. "New clothes, mostly.. spent a good twenty minutes trying to convince this woman that I did not want these ridiculous looking pants that were so large I reckoned they were mainly used to store one's children in."
Fashion. Meh. Patrick never really cared for it. He was a classic sort of chap, with his business-like apparel.
"What about yourself? Obviously you've caught me just minutes after a bout of emotional shopping, so.. what brings you here?"
