[Merlin and Tarrwyn] secrettalents April 24 2011, 04:51:58 UTC
Re: [Merlin and Tarrwyn] notsmallcarys April 24 2011, 13:23:16 UTC
Children show grief in strange ways. While Tarrwyn doesn't understand what death really is, except for going away and not coming back, there are certain signs that some of the maids are noticing in the Lady Morgana's wards. The elder has been nearly as ghostly as her guardian: quietly wandering the palace, sometimes with the former apprentice. She sleeps more as well, perhaps explaining the ability of the younger ward ( ... )

It is in the hallway that he spots the young girl. The first real signs that his memory comes back kick in, and Merlin smiles at Tarrwyn.

"You're awake early, sweetheart." The reaction of the maid is not something to be missed. But it is not one of Merlin's concerns at the moment.

"And I'm sure you're not supposed to be wandering without Morgana' permission."

Another sign that Tarrwyn was beginning to understand Merlin wasn't coming back (though she was feeling abandoned, more than comprehending death) is the gasp of surprise she gives when she hears the familiar voice. Turning on her heel, she looks at her guardian, all large eyes, and upset.

Clearly, this upset must be explained. "You went away before I was awake. I don't want to miss anyone else." The hurt from the abandonment comes through in spades.

But she usually isn't a disobedient girl. "I'll go back for breakfast. I promise."

[Merlin and Gwen] secrettalents April 24 2011, 04:52:32 UTC
Re: [Merlin and Gwen] secrettalents April 24 2011, 04:59:01 UTC
Merlin walks past the servants and the messengers, though none are able to see him. Each has a soft smile on their face, some are more cheerful still. Though they know not the reason why.

He slips into the Queen's room, exhaustion must still be burdening her, for normally Gwen is awake with the servant. Though one cannot fault her today. Merlin thinks that Arthur has probably set himself to work early, which is a very deep shame, because if the King had still been in bed, Merlin would have woken him up first. Instead, he sneaks into the royal bed and wraps his arms around the beautiful Queen.

"Gwen.. have I mentioned how perfect you are?"

Gwen isn't quite sure what's happened at first, because she's still asleep when Merlin slides into bed with her. She registers the movement next to her enough so that she's awake enough to hear what he says, but it takes her a few more moments to wake up enough so that she recognizes his voice.

But when she finally does, she sits straight up and stares at him. "Merlin? ....no, it can't be. I must still be asleep."

He laughs a little and sits up with her. "It's not a dream, I promise you."

Merlin picks her hand up and sets it against his face. His skin is warm to the touch and he has probably never looked hail or healthier. "See. All real."

Which does leave a great deal of explanation to sort out. But right now Merlin is hoping to just convince her he is alive.

Next he must seek Arthur out. It is not even a question of the desire to see his friend, there is a need that compels Merlin to find the King. He does not need to ask, he simply follows his instincts. Which lead Merlin out to the training grounds. The morning is bright and crisp, and there is only one man current working off his frustrations in the early hour. Perhaps this is the only time that Arthur has to himself.

Well.. hopefully he will not begrudge Merlin the intrusion. "I still think you are the world's biggest prat."

He grins as he leans on the fence, waiting for Arthur to turn and face him.

Arthur is far from his usual precise self, he's pretty much hacking the dummy to bits.

"Leave me-" He begins, turning ready to tear into whoever it is.

Then his sword drops from his hand.

"I can't." It's a simple answer, but a very true one.

Merlin moves past the fence and towards Arthur. He's hoping that he's a little more dignified in how he looks, because he's certainly nothing of the sort in how he feels.

He's greeting Arthur with a fast hug, a kind of fierce joy as he holds his friend tightly. Merlin even kisses him, though it's not a romantic gesture, but a brotherly affection. He can't help but smile as a fool to be here, at Arthur's side. "You're not getting rid of me, it seems."

[Merlin and Morgana] secrettalents April 24 2011, 05:11:09 UTC
Re: [Merlin and Morgana] exiledskeptic April 25 2011, 01:52:08 UTC
Morgana is not in any of her usual places. It's quite possible that Warren, when he learns of his master's return, will tell Merlin of Morgana's almost haunting of the tower.

For the first time in three days, she is properly, truly asleep. In the old cot, Morgana had lain down for just a few minutes, and finally fallen asleep.

She's still in her mourning attire, she'd look rather ghostly, and if possible, paler. Her face is drawn even in sleep.

Running into Warren was a unique experience. Merlin had never known the boy to be clingy, generally he found Warren to be somewhat too mature for his age. However upon seeing his master, Warren had launched himself at Merlin and refused to be separated for a good while.

It was only after many long moments that he detached himself and told Merlin where Morgana was to be found.

The tower was surprisingly light and well aired considering it's previous abandonment. Though most likely it had not really gone unattended, with Warren and Morgana to look after things.

Merlin kneels down beside his betrothed, just watching her for a time. There is no doubt that he carries a deep affection that cannot be suppressed. Gently, Merlin pushes back the thin fabric of her hair covering that has fallen to rest on her cheek, his knuckles trace a soft line down her neck and Merlin leans in to place a kiss on her lovely mouth, brief and sweet.

"Morgana... wake for me."

Warren might have to find his friend or his master's mother, as neither yet know of his resurrection ( ... )
