The trip to Tintagel is done in in near silence. Morgana still knows the way to her childhood home, so it is more everyone following her lead -- her avoidance of as many main roads as possible. Duran is a little less certain, aware that it's his birthday today and wondering where Father and Uncle Merlin are. He trails along after his brother, thumb in mouth looking about.

Morgana tries to keep things light, as this will be stressful enough for everyone. "Because it is your birthday, Duran, I think you should pick your chambers." As they're in what was a guest wing, all of the rooms are the pretty much the same, except some look at the sea, and others the plateau.

Although he's cheered somewhat by Auntie Morgana's words, he'd thought that his birthday had disappeared! But no, even though they were in a whole other place it was still on.
He peers curiously into the guest rooms before making a decision. "I want to be near Mama."
The Pendragon's have a very strong streak of 'mama's-boy' in them.

The room is the same as the others -- though facing the ocean -- and with only the one bed. "Amhar, do you think you can share with Duran?" She knows her girls can, but the princes have lived very different lives.

The path isn't too steep, but Tintagel isn't the flat land Duran would be used to around the capital city. It is though rather near a cliff. Morgana's definitely understanding the concern her father held.

"There's a village along the the coast." She points out the window to a far distant scattering of huts. "Do you think we'll be able to visit?"

"I'm not sure..." He has his doubts, all evidence has shown that Urien will stop at nothing to get what he wants. It's quite possible assassins would be in that village.
"But we can go for a walk if you wish?"
