A bit late and just a repost from my facebook and twitter account, but i want to ramble a bit about these, so feel free to ignore this entry :) It's not a review either, just rambling, nonsense rambling lol.
(This list doesn't include Comiket 79 stuffs and any later works)
DYE -Synthesis- : Last year marks the born of my deep bias toward AVTechNO! and Treow, two Vocaloid techno producers. I've known Treow quite long before, but wasn't really into his music until i came across Dye Synthesis, the collaboration albums of Treow and AVTechNO!, a masterpiece that introduced me to Abe san and Treow's circle ELECTROCUTICA. I admit i'm not a fan of techno music at all, but these two are exception. They are also the only two producers that i can claim as my favorite producers without any hesitation, since the others such as Hachi, wowaka, scop, papiyon... are... well, they're great, but not all of their songs are to my liking. Anyway, my two most favorite producers did a remix collaboration of my most favorite AVTechNO! song DYE, can't expect anything more epic than that.
Crystalloid, Reversus, NELNELNEL, free : Reversus is Cutica's collab with the "sirens" : Luschka, Yanaginagi, F9/Kiyono and Miku. Needless to say that i'm a fan of Luschka and F9 (of course Miku too), and have quite a respect to nagi's voice, this album is simply epic.
Crystalloid is a collaboration of 5 techno producers : Treow, AVtechNO!, Millstones, Zddn and Hachiouji. But as i'm not a techno fan, except Abe san remixes of Boku-boku, the others doesn't impress me much, although the whole album sounds really great, plus the fact that i hadn't listen to Millstones and Zddn before.
NELNELNEL and free are EPs of Abe san's two songs NEL and free. They are EPs, so each has only 2 or 3 songs. I really really want to put Feminity~Sunao na Watashi~ in too, but it's not even an EP ;__;.
Beyond the Eternity : This epic maxi single introduced me to Mintjam, one of my current most obsessed artists. Gosh i still remember clearly the time i first listened to Beyond the Eternity. I was listening to a bunch of doujin CDs and most of them were quite boring to me, but when foobar played this song, my eyes suddenly opened as big as they could, and i started to get really excited while kept on saying "OMG" over and over LOL Mintjam is an electro progressive rock band, and as i see not many of their listeners are female XD Love Terra's clear and strong voice so much. As i see they're not really popular compared to the numbers of their releases, but if you've watched Highschool of the Dead anime, they composed the first ED song "Kimi to Taiyou ga Shinda Hi", also the best one among 13 EDs, according to majority opinion :)
Persona Music Live Band : This album contains jazzy remixes of Persona OST tracks (i really want to play this game but don't have a PS2 ;; ). I'm a big fan of jazzy arrangement and the songs are all amazing. I'm not impressed much by Burn My Dread original, but this version is damn good. Not to mention Shuuhei Kita's songs (really like this guy) Breakin' through and Soul Phrase, at first i was a bit disappointed to find out he didn't sing Kimi no Kioku, but Kawamura's version is really nice (and she's the one who originally sang it too).
Ido he Itaru Mori he Itaru Ido & Marchen : Marchen is the continuation of IdoIdo. They quite satisfied me, but there are still some points that i don't like much. I'm not complaining, i love Sanhora and the songs are great, but in Hikari to Yami no Douwa, Revo's voice is autotuned a bit too much (to fit Meru's image? ^^;) and Kono Semai Torikago no Naka de seems to be lack a little climax. In Marchen, well, Sei to Shi wo Wakatsu Furuido annoys me like hell. And i also don't like Kurosawa Tomoyo's singing much. But other than these, everything is awesome. Especially Marchen, in my opinion the biggest similar point of this album with Moira is that each tracks is not really impressive separately, but when uniting them they turn out to be an epic and vehement combination. Btw fyi, i've become a fan of Tettere Ouji (epic name www) and Elize, seriously.
Select Me : I won't let my fangirling lure me, i swear! The single consists of 3 songs : fan-serviced Select Me, sexy Love Atomic Transfer, and Shounen Ginga( which i don't know how to describe in just one word orz ). Well basically you can't expect more from PointFive, their voices blend amazingly, song selection is cool, (had been drooling over Ren sama's Love Atomic Transfer forever before this came out XD),and the original song Select Me is nice too. Marutan's super cute "Suki da yo"... Oops, sorry XD
The Vocaloid Jazz Sessions Vol.1 : Jazz arrangements of many famous Vocaloid songs by the band Baguettes Ensemble. Simply beautiful, especially to a jazz adorer like me.
New Wave : Great choice of songs and singers. This was the first time i listened to Pochiyama, Kokoru and Yaken, their voices are really nice (especially Yaken). The other singers are all famous for their good voices, and i was also surprised by how skilled H-ero and Turbo were.
Piano Sing Rock : collaboration of many artists, only 4 songs but brings 16 minutes 37 seconds full of epicness. Although i don't like Akiakane's voice much, but the band edition of Rolling Girl is simply awesome. Have always been admiring Donnie The Dinamite's voice, and Lon's Melancholic is the best version i've ever heard (in an objective view, no i seriously love Rumdarjun's T_T).
V.I.P : Marasy seems to be the most popular ensoushitemita artist on Nicodou ? I remember his videos always have scarily high view numbers. Well can't say much about this album except one word : beautiful. Really love Magnet, From Y to Y and Yume Tokidoki, but i found the most amazing track is Piano Girl, because of the violin addition.
7 : This album turns out to be much better than i had expected. No, i'm a fan of Mi-chan, but this is simply amazing. All the songs fit his rough voice so much, and my most favorite track is 7, mostly because of the beautiful melody, and very, very touching whisper at the end of the song "Arigatou" *fangirling* . The bonus track is sweet too XD
Apocalypse -Kyuukou Mokushiroku- : despite the eye-hurt kanji title, this is a super amazing metal album by Kokuyasou, an one-member doujin band who mostly makes Touhou-arranged music. I don't follow Touhou fandom and rarely listen to Touhou doujin music, but this album is made of purely powerful metal tracks that i love so much, although my mother said they sounds like the crash of some metallic things which makes her get a headache wwwww
Kourin no Machi, Lavender no Shoujo OST : An eroge. I've never had enough patience to play visual novels :( There are only 3 songs, but all sung by famous game music artists such as Katakiri Rekka and Ayane (don't know much about Zwei, but they sounds great).
Well that's the summing up of my 2010 music listening. I must say this is one of the best years in my music life with the discovery of many great artists, deeply drowning into Nicodou, utattemita fandom as well as doujin music, and continuing enjoying Vocaloid songs. My listening habit has changed quite much and i didn't listen to Sanhora, Kalafina and anisongs as much as i used to, but my music library is becoming bigger with many other nice things :) Thanks a lot to the nice friends who introduces the artists to me and peoples who generously shares their stuffs.
Besides these listed albums/singles, there are still many great things that i didn't have chance to listen sooner, or simply didn't have enough place to put in ;; Also all the tl;dr rambling above is my own opinion so don't take them too serious lol And please don't mind my awkward grammar and vocab, my English writing skill sucks, and it's 4 a.m nau ^^;
Lastly, because this is my first entry in 2011, so although it's quite late, but happy new year !
