What do you have to lose if you just sit down and talk with Dr. Mean?
You can explain how you feel she treats you unfairly.
Does she treat the other assistant the same way?
Is there anyone ahead of her that works there?

rumor has it, she acts this way with everyone. she says what shes thinking. theres no filter between her head and her mouth, which is bad, cuz she insults everyone. shes even done it to patients.
the secretary has said something to her about how im like, scared of her. i am scared of her, thats why i dont wanna talk to her. and i know she wont change even if i do, cuz its just the way she is. she treats everyone like that.
shes the boss, her practice, blegh...

trust me i understand the situation you are in completely as im currently contemplating the same demise in my jobs life ;) its a shame when you work with so many nice people and such, but there are always one or two assholes that have to make it a horrible experience.

i think if you can tolerate dr. mean, then stay there.

if it really causes you great angst, it might not be worth it.

i think you can tough it out and stay at the job. money is a good thing (when you have it).

waitressing is a great job, esp when your incollege, b/c it's cash in your pocket everytime you work, it's totally flexible, how much you make is based only on how good you are. and TGI Fridays is the best chain to work for( id id for 2 years when i was in college). or you could always go owrk at another dental office, there's practically one on every other corner

in raleigh, NC $2.15 an hour, in NY it's like $3.15 an hour it's really a tips job

yea, i waitress now, and i dont get paid by the hour cuz i work for family =P but tips can be pretty good on a busy night. ill think about it.
