Brian was heading toward the men's room when he heard the unpleasant jangling noise that was clearly a frustrated person with a guitar. He glanced over at Roger's room, frowning. Not that he was worried about him or anything, but...hey, maybe he'd welcome a little distraction.

He exchanged the frown for a grin, moved to Roger's doorway and knocked on the doorframe before poking his head inside the curtain. "Hey Rockstar."

Something about... that- what was it? Brian's voice or the fact that he knew it by the word 'Rockstar'- it made a smile tug at his lips, but there was barely a trace of it by the time he looked up. He looked miserable. And tired. And a little sallow.

"Hey, Brian," he said, scratching a hand through wild tangles of hair. "What's up?"

Not a flicker of the brief pang of concern Roger's appearance brought him showed on Brian's face. He slipped inside as if invited, leaning against the wall and arching an eyebrow at Roger. "Not much. I was bored and in the neighborhood, so to speak." He smirked faintly and straightened again, moving to the bed and making himself comfortable. "What's up with you?"

Roger snorted and scooted back on the bed, using the wall to support his aching back. He was aching all over, but he wasn't sure why. It wasn't cold; the cold weather usually aggravated all of his injuries, and he didn't think he was getting sick. He sincerely fucking hoped he wasn't.

"How much time you got?" He rolled his eyes. Brian would never, in a million fucking years listen or care.

Brian just lay there for a minute after Roger left, staring after him in disbelief. Had he just left? Just fucking took off in the middle of things without a word, without a glance?

Fuck that. Brian Kinney didn't get ignored, and he sure as fuck didn't get abandoned in the middle of foreplay. Jaw tight he sat up, grabbing his shirt and pulling it on with sharp, jerky motions. He wasn't going to fucking sit around waiting for Roger to patch up his little love affair, or whatever the fuck it was.

He stalked out of Roger's room and went straight to his own, digging in his trunk for a few bible pages and his weed, and sat cross-legged on the bed, carefully crumbling up enough to roll a joint.

It didn't take any kind of genius to figure out where Brian went, so Roger descended the stairs in a hurry. His knee gave out about halfway and he almost rolled down the remaining stairs, but he caught himself and continued, finally pushing Brian's curtain aside.

"I'm sorry," he said, for the millionth time that day.

Brian didn't even acknowledge the intrusion for a few moments. He finished crumbling the bud in his hand and then looked up, calm and composed, one eyebrow raised. "Sorry? For what?" What, like he was going to make this easy?

Roger was resembling a kicked puppy enough. What was a few more moments? And if playing Brian's game meant he could be spared another beating, he'd do it. He was seconds from roll-over-and-die.

"For running out like that," Roger said softly, arms cradling one another across his chest. "I fucked up."
