OOC: Details about Cantabile

Aug 10, 2008 02:12

Of course, much of this is up to characters in question (I especially would like to hear from Van's player), so I'm focusing more on Cantabile's own opinions of people based on canon events up to the beginning of the game that she would know about.

Where is your character in their life?

She's still 6th Division commander even if she lost much of her weight among the God-Generals (she used to hold Sync's position from what I gather of the translation). Van has sent her off on something that will keep her well away from Daath and anyone he doesn't want her near (Ion, Guy, etc)

How are their relationships? (Who do they know at the starting point of the rp?)

This of course is up to other players, but here's what I imagine Cantabile's feelings on everyone she knows to be, thought most of the time she would deal with fellow God-Generals politely since they are deserving of some respect due to their rank.

Guy: She doesn't even know he's alive, much less an Oracle Knight. Thanks to Van, they have been kept apart, and she's been sent on fruitless searches for the supposedly surviving heir of House Gardios. She would be ecstatic to find that he is still alive, she always did like him when they were children and if she were honest, she had a childish liking for both him and Van. As she grew older, she knew that wouldn't amount to anything, since his station was much higher than hers, and well, she wasn't the type of woman a man would want to marry. The best she could hope for with him was friendship and to protect him with her life if he is still alive.

Van: She trusted him once, but once she found out the details of his plan and Hod's destruction, she grew to hate him with a serious passion. If it wasn't for...circumstances beyond her control, he would be dead now, by her own hand. It wasn't as if she hadn't had the chance, but she knew full well that her skills may not be enough and even if they were, she would probably die in the attempt. And if he didn't go down with her, her father would die soon after, and though she's willing to die to take Van with her, she's not willing to sacrifice her one living relative.

Arietta: Such a whiny little brat and it's obvious she had too much sway over Ion while she was a guardian. Ion was so different now that he wasn't under her care, and that was a good thing.

Sync: Cantabile barely knows him, only knows that he got her position when she lost it. She almost feels for him, Van likely has a hold on him too, since he pretty much appeared out of nowhere. Oddly, she doesn't resent Sync, she more feels pity for him if Van truly has such a hold on him.

Legretta: Oh, she has so much hate for the woman. It's not an unknown fact among the God-Generals that she wanted Van dead, and now she is the most loyal among them. The stupid bitch believes his lies when she had as much reason to go against him as she did. She'd probably go jump off a bridge now if Van told her too, absolutely pathetic.

Dist: It's surprising he hasn't caused the entirety of Daath to explode yet, though if that were to happen and Van were to die in the explosion, not an undesirable event. If he would spend a bit less time obsessing about Jade the Necromancer, perhaps he would be more tolerable.

Largo: An honorable man at least, though misguided. It was a shame Van got to him first, because he wouldn't change loyalties no matter what. A shame about that daughter of his, how much loss does the Score need to cause for decent people like him?

Asch: Probably the only other God-General with a lick of sense. Why he follows Van is a mystery, Van has every reason in the world to hate the kid, but yet dotes upon him. He must be very much in the dark about Van's true intentions, and sadly, she doesn't get much of a chance to speak with him since she found them out herself. She knew he would turn immediately if he knew.

Ion: At first she really did not like him, but he changed a lot about two years ago. Maybe that brush with death changed his opinion on life? But now she was definitely loyal to only him, at least until she finds Guy, since her loyalty belongs only to him. She doesn't know Anise very well, but is aware that her influence on the Fon Master is much better than Arietta's was.

Tear: She'll make a fine soldier one day now that she is not hiding in her brother's shadow and instead trying to establish her own place and make her own decisions based on what she has seen. It was however a shame that Van was keeping her away from his sister, but the damage was already done, she wouldn't agree with him, she was too kind-hearted for that

Mohs: Probably the only person in the Order she hates more than Mohs is Van himself. Even Legretta doesn't quite come to this level of hatred. If she could find a way to assassinate him, she would. Why all the other God-Generals who also hate the Score side with him is a mystery.

Are there any OTHER important details we should know before we start?

Cantabile's loyalties are not towards Van, but due to circumstances beyond her control, she can't act against him on her own. She has many Oracle Knights under her command, which hinders Van to some degree, and she works to get others at least on the Fon Master's side rather than the Grand Maestro's. She can't join the party outright, but she can always give them assistance in small ways that would go undetected.

Like Guy, Cantabile uses the Sigmund style. She got some training from her father, and the rest from another survivor who could train her. She also can use the Seventh Fonon, but would refuse to read the Score. The only thing she can and will do is heal minor ailements.

Also, since we don't have random details like age and such on her, I made a few stats up that I felt were fitting. I put her at being 23 years old, so in between Guy and Van in age. Heightwise, I see her as being 5'8".

And feel free to post here either ooc or IC. Her story is quite wide open and I'm willing to work around things if anyone else here feels they would know her.

And if anyone needs what little we do have official on her, I did find the summary translation of Tear's arc of ToF v2.
