Today was a day when all the Super Junior members were gone except Donghae and Kyuhyun. Everyone was busy with their own activities. Kangin had his radio show, Kibum had his drama shootings, Hankyung was in China, and other busy things. The apartment was deathly silent without the sounds of thirteen boys cramped in it. Meanwhile, Donghae was inside his room, currently listening to music and reading the daily newspaper. He didn't mind the silence, it was nice for a change. Plus, even if Kyuhyun was awake, it would still be pretty quiet. Suddenly, a sharp rapping on the door startled Donghae. He turned down the radio and hopped off his bed, "Hold on," he shouted as he quickly put on a shirt. Standing outside was the magnae, Kyuhyun.
"Hey," Donghae greeted as he opened the door.
"Just wanted to make sure you were awake or something. Did you eat breakfast yet?" Donghae shook his head in response, "I'm not that hungry," Kyuhyun nodded and turned toward the kitchen, "I'll be eating breakfast okay?" Donghae watched as Kyuhyun headed toward the kitchen. He waited until the magnae disappeared around the corner until shutting the door and going back to his bed to read.
Fifteen minutes later, Donghae heard his stomach grumble. He groaned as he slid off the warmth of his bed. As he opened the door, he heard a faint sound of a piano playing. He strained his ears and followed the noise toward the living room. There, he saw Kyuhyun sitting with his back facing toward him, playing an upright piano. Since when did we get a piano? Donghae leaned on the wall and closed his eyes as he listened. He could hear Kyuhyun's passion for music in the sound that he plays. The music seemed so calming, but the moment was spoiled as Donghae's stomach rumbled loudly in protest. Kyuhyun stopped playing and quickly turned around, "Oh! You scared me! Well, more like your stomach did..." Donghae blushed a bit and went up next to the magnae.
"How did you learn to play like that?"
"Practice, a lot" There was a bit of silence as Donghae pondered over Kyuhyun's response.
"Can you teach me?" he finally asked. Kyuhyun looked up and smiled, "Sure,"
Donghae slid on the bench next to Kyuhyun, and places his hands on his lap, "Okay, I'm ready," Kyuhyun raised his right hand and placed it on the keys. Using his left hand, he guided Donghae's hand to the same note but an octave higher*. Then, he slowly played the C scale, 8 notes up and 8 notes back down. Donghae followed, but his fingers accidentally slipped off some notes. Kyuhyun used his hands to help, "Here, bend your fingers a bit and cross your thumb under your middle finger... Yup, there you go!" Donghae lit up as he played the C scale up and down the keyboard.
Minutes later, Kyuhyun accompanied Donghae with a little song as Donghae played the scales. The two boys filled the silent apartment with laughter as the played. They never even noticed Eunhyuk enter the apartment and ask, "Hey! Since when did we have a piano?"
