I love that building the mystery thing.

I think you're not talking about game playing like... I said I'd call tomorrow, but I'll wait one more day just so s/he knows I'm not on the hook... or whatever. THAT game playing must go.

If you're talking about the tentative first steps towards something... I think on both sides its about both seduction and tenderness. You don't want to scare the crap out of a rabbit you want to pet. You want to be sure they're ready to take you on when you're 100% gung-ho.

All of that said... I have found that with the right person... all the bullshit is unnecessary. You both just slowly keep taking steps towards each other. And it's a beautiful thing.
