As a matter of fact...I went there looking for you on Sunday!!! Steph and I went to the orchard to pick apples and swung by the faire after. Unfortunately, I don't have your number in my phone like I thought I did, so we walked up to the gate and alas, you were not there. Of course, it was 4:30 in the afternoon and I didn't realize it closed at 5.
Next Saturday is a big possibility. It's my mom's b'day but I'll have the kids from 7am till 8pm. I'm leaning toward taking them. They might think it's really cool, or they might just complain all day. And it would be a little pricey with the kids in tow, unless of course you still have some of those free passes ;). I'd really like to though. I want to take them to King Richard's so it would be good to see what they think of it on a smaller scale. As far as weeknight go, I'm broke till Friday morning unfortunately. Let me know about Saturday though..i.e, when you'll be there, where you'll be, etc.
yeah - Sunday we took off early cause Syracuse is a long way away. i will be there all day Saturday, and i'll be at the Gate from at least 9:45ish (open is 10 am) until noon pretty much non-stop. if i'm not at the gate, people at the Gate will be able to locate me if you ask for me. :)
the only wildcard for Saturday is the weather. i'm not sure if it's supposed to rain? haven't seen forecast. show will go on, no matter what, but i hope it's nice!
i bet your nephews would LOVE the Faire. they have done so much to make is accessible to kids - this year even more so. if they're fantasy-positive, there's the whole King Arthur theme and the costumes, etc. if they only love fighting, well, heck - there's plenty of that at Hitting and Stabbing (actual name). and the chess match. and the jousts. :D
i'll leave you a comp ticket, and the kids are fairly cheap. 5 and under are free. there's a coupon for a dollar off here. food's not *too* expensive, or you can bring your own food, because (unlike some Ren faires *COUGHCarver*) you can come
( ... )
or kids "under 5" - that may mean 4 and under - are free, as per the language of website. hrm.
and i also meant to tell you that this coming weekend (Columbus Day weekend) is Pirate Invasion weekend. shows change, and people are encouraged to come dressed as pirates. the rogues go nuts. it's a blast. :D
