Orange Juice
#56 Donghae/Ryeowook (Filth)
33/100
I remember my very first job, back when I was 10 years old. Appa had left Umma and me and there wasn't enough money to buy the things we needed, even with Umma working two jobs. I really wanted to help Umma so I lied about my age and got a job to try and support the both of us. It wasn't a high paying job, but it brought some more money to the table for a little while. My job was working as a gopher for the big boss of an orange juice factory, but I got canned after two months because I couldn't concentrate on simple tasks. It's not that I'm dumb; I was just so worried about Umma. Umma tried not to show how disappointed she was with me after I came home sobbing about how useless I was.
She just said, "Donghae...." in her tired voice and give me a hug. The morning after I was fired, she was already gone when I woke up. She didn't come back home until midnight. When she finally staggered into my room her clothes were filthy and her face was flushed. "Umma? Where were you?" I held my arms out for a hug and she obliged.
"Never mind Donghae. Go to bed now. Everything will get better soon." She held me in her arms, and rubbed my head until I fell asleep.
It was two weeks later at school when a fellow classmate had told me where Umma had gone. She had gone to get a job as a sex servant. I don't know how my classmate knew that, but I knew that from then on I would have to work harder than ever so that she wouldn't have to take on any more jobs like that.

Spring Fever and Chives
#83 Hankyung/Eunhyuk (Fever)
34/100
It was official: Spring fever had hit Seoul and it had hit pretty hard. In his whole group of friends, Hankyung had been the only one not affected. He had no use for being lazy when he had a scholarship to maintain and a business to help run. Eunhyuk on the other hand, had been affected pretty badly. He had skipped all the classes he had dared to in the past two weeks and was barely pulling a 2.4 GPA when he needed a 3.0 to stay in school. If he didn't pull his GPA up in the next two weeks his parents threatened to cut off his finances.
"What am I going to do, hyung?" Eunhyuk whimpered as he tried to stuff a dumpling. "Their money is keeping me alive!"
"Go to class." Hankyung said simply as he took the mangled dumpling from Eunhyuk and reworked it.
"But I hate sitting still for two hours! I'd rather dance with Donghae and the others!" Eunhyuk groaned. "How, oh, how can you do all this hyung? How can you help your mother with her dumpling shop and still keep a 3.9 average?"
"I actually attend class and make time to study, something you should try once in a while. Pass me that bowl by your elbow please."
Eunhyuk passed the bowl to Hankyung and resumed his slumped position Hankyung's mother's cookbook. "What's in that bowl?"
"Chives."
Eunhyuk was quiet for a moment before a genuinely confused look crossed his face. "What are chives anyways?"
Hankyung mentally face palmed. "Please, just go study Hyukkie. It'll do you a lot of good."

Note: Another two challenge fics that I wrote quite a while ago but only got around to posting now. If you can spot the two puns I put in 'Orange Juice' in an attempt to be 'punny', hurray! Haha, those two puns were actually what made me write it in the first place. As for Spring Fever, I guess I was influenced by my own 'Eunhyuk and chives' moment but I forgot what it actually was already.
