I have seen so many miscommunications blamed on how "sarcasm doesn't translate well over the internet," which actually occured simply due to a lack of effort on the part of the interlocutors. I actually thoroughly enjoy talking over the internet (2nd only to talking in person) because of how it allows me to think of what I am saying before I type

I just learned a new word from this posting. I looked up shunt...and it is exactly the word you should have used here. I have never heard that word used in this context before. Only as a shunt in terms of heart surgery ....Love ya, Webster
