I suppose that living in Illinois (and perhaps the whole Midwest) is living landlocked. It isn't about physically being away from water. It is being very aware of your boundaries (be they real or imagined). Possibilities are all fine and good, but in general, your average Illinoisan is more sensible than that

Word. That is hard to explain but I like this concept and I think it applies to far more than just music, but music is a good venue for explaining the mentality. As I host more and more couchsurfers from various ends of the globe, I realize how much I am from the midwest and exactly what that means. And, in true midwest fashion, I'm kind of liking it. emma o
