I agree with you in so many terms, especially this bit:
When I read the line Draco Malfoy was standing there with his wife and son, oh, it cut straight to my poor shipper heart. I was heartbroken.
Man. YOu know I can accept R/Hr since it's basically a given already. But damn, Draco having a wife?! I agree with you, it was really painful. I would have preferred Draco being a bachelor if I can't have D/Hr, but him having his own family with another woman?! Damn talaga.
Ooor, dude... maybe we can have Draco's wife being dead after a few years and Ron, uhm... I think R/Hr is pretty genuine (in pure CANON terms!), so can we just kill him off too? Coz I don't think he'll let go of Hermione that easily...
Whatever. This may be how JK ended things. But there's still the fandom! There can be so many other alternatives.
We actually weren't going to go looking for Severus/Lily fics, haha. Maybe we should. But we're really still just sticking to D/Hr, in terms of fics, that is. Although Addy- from the ship- said he's already working on a Scorpius/Rose thing.
Wonder if someone will create a ship for that in SCUSA? And will it only be D/Hr shippers shipping it?
BTW, we linked the fic we recced you on the ship... so hopefully you can access it through there. The funny one, hehe.
We weren't prepared for Draco to have a wife. Painful, horribly painful. It's like he betrayed us. hehe. I know, I know, I KNOW! He's supposed to stay a bachelor and forever pine for Hermione, his one true love. hahaha. :p Well, not pine. But seriously, he wasn't supposed to get married! Hermione marrying Ron, I was prepared for, but not him! :( It was supposed to be oh-so-sweet in my post-HP world.. With Draco a bachelor because he'd rather not have married if it wasn't Hermione. *SIGH*
When I read the line Draco Malfoy was standing there with his wife and son, oh, it cut straight to my poor shipper heart. *sobs* I actually yelled out, "Nooooooooo!!!!"
And I’m relieved neither Draco nor Hermione died. Me too! I guess I should be thankful for this one.. Even though Draco's married to someone else.
To me, the only good thing that I found out from the epilogue was that Draco was kiiiinda in okay terms with Hermione, Harry, Ron, etc. and vice versa. And that he doesn't seem to be a pariah.
I think that's the most reasonable reaction to that awful line. I was yelling "Nooooooooo!!!" too, but just in my mind, because I was in the car with other people. :) If I had been alone, I would have yelled at the book too!
I guess I should be thankful for this one..
Yeah, the fact that Draco's alive, when it seemed so possible that he would die, is the only redeeming thing about the whole R/Hr, Draco/NamelessPurebloodWitch mess.
