In the debate, Kerry said that the tax cut Bush gave to the top percent of Americans earned enough money to save Social Security for the next 75 years. Of course, he didn't fail to mention that Bush fell in that tax bracket. First of all, that is such a skewed statement because there are so many other implications that come from a tax cut. The money from the tax cut was used to help boost the private sector, and Bush has a grand plan to shift Social Security into the private sector and individuals' hands in order to promote financial responsibility. Social Security needs to be reformed, and Kerry simply stating that "Bush could've fixed it and didn't, but I am not offering any major changes" isn't really a solid attack against Bush. We are in the home stretch, so who knows how many more contradicting quotes and facts will pop up. Factcheck.ORG really has its work cut out for them.
